Of course they do. You don't win nine in a row by accident.
RB
11:15
Why are we talking about the Texans?????
Gerry Dulac
11:15
Good point
Bill

Does 2-2 get the Steelers in the playoffs the final stretch?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Depends what the Ravens do. They still have to play at KC and the Chargers, and the Browns and Tampa Bay at home. They're looking at 2-2 as well.
Scott

Is it realistic to think we can get to a Super Bowl without a running game?  We were not running the ball when Conner was healthy.  The winning streak was the result of a balanced attack and keeping the defense off the field.
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Here's the main reason: No. 7. I've said it many times over the years -- as long as you have BR, you're never out of any game, you're never out of any season. You can lose James Conner. You can lose Le'Veon Bell. But you cannot lose Ben Roethlisberger. It is amazing to me the number of dummies out there who fail to realize this

Currently the 4th seed in the playoffs with a great chance to win the division and fans want coaches fired.  I am beginning to wonder if some of these people even watch other teams.  Wow, are Steeler fans spoiled or what?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
NO THEY DON'T!! They have no idea. None

Gerry, Have to agree with your partner how the Front  Office could have not been more prepared if Conner would get hurt? A team with SB potential and  things looking a little bleak for their chances.  Your take.  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
11:20
Easy to say now.

11:20
Why did the Chargers scheme force them to cover Keenan Allen with LB's?  Can't the Steelers make adjustments too?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
Yes they can. But when it's 23-7 at halftime, and you're about to make it 26-7 or even 30-7 until a holding penalty wipes out a 22-yard run to the Chargers 26 on the first possession of the third quarter -- and you held them to 2 yards rushing in the first half -- why in the world do you need to make adjustments?? Look, the Chargers took advantage of the Steelers not having Morgan Burnett and/or Cam Sutton, smaller guys who can run, and picked on them having to play LBs in that role.
Dave
11:22
It’s pretty simple Gerry. Put a cornerback — any CB — on the one guy killing you and shadow him. It was pretty clear where they were going to go on that final drive. You don’t agree with this?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
I'll tell Butler. I bet he NEVER thought of that.
RB
11:22
Would you be surprised if the steelers win their next four? Dreaming, but they are capable.
Gerry Dulac
11:26
Of course they are. They can beat any team in the league. Look at the past three games: Each one of them went to last play of the game. The Steelers could have easily won all three and they could have easily lost all three. They could easily be 9-2-1 and everyone would be talking about how dangerous and good they are. Or they could be 6-5-1 and everyone saying they're done. They could easily beat New England and New Orleans. It doesn't take much in this league, especially for them

Hey Gerry - feels like i have been watching the same reality show for a few years now.  Super talented team constantly getting in their own way.  Do you think this is just being unlucky or lacking focus in crucial situations?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
I don't believe in unlucky. You create your own luck. Chi Chi Rodriguez the golfer once said, "The better I get, the luckier I am." The Steelers win most of the tight games they're involved in. That's why they're record over the past four decades is better than every other team in the league. Only New England has been better the past two decades. They know how to win games. They do it all the time because of No. 7. They know how to finish. They do it all the time. But not every time. And that's all anyone wants to complain about.
Larry

You say that the Chargers schemed to get the LB on Allen.  Why didn't we scheme to get the LB some help?  We always seem to get out-schemed for some reason.  When will someone be held accountable for that?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
I answered that earlier. See Burnett and Sutton
Lucky
11:28
Moving forward, is the D going to change so that LBs won’t be in man pass coverage?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
They weren't always in man coverage. And, yes, they learn from their mistakes. They don't have the record they have and the division titles they have and the playoff appearances they have because they fail to learn from their mistakes.
Scott
11:30
I agree with you about Big Ben, but we cannot continue making ourselves one dimensional, or he is the next one to be injured.
Gerry Dulac
11:30
I wouldn't call having a RB who has more 100-yard rushing games and more rushing TDs than every back but one in the league one-dimensional.
Barry
11:30
3 playoff wins since 2010 .  Instinct tells me it stays that way.  Like you said earlier, if you have BR, you can win any game but we dont seem to.  Some
Gerry Dulac
11:30
You want someone better?
Dave
11:31
You do that because he clearly didn’t think of that. Or Tomlin. Ask yourself this Gerry: Would Belichick have allowed that to continue in the second half? Of course he wouldn’t. But go ahead and keep mocking your audience.
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Nobody said he was a genius. It was one loss. I'll see if they want to hire Belichick
Mark
11:32
where do The Steelers need the most improvement in the draft

Defense. ILB for sure!!

Wasn’t Tousant on the practice squad
Gerry Dulac

No
Barry

3 playoff wins since 2010.  We have been almost irrelevant in the playoffs since the last Super Bowl appearance.  If that one and done trend continues this year, do you expect some coaches seats to start to warm?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
No.
Mikey
11:33
It's hard to overcome the numerous horrible calls by the refs and other Charger TD on a fluke play which looked like an interception by Haden until Davis ran into him.     Steelers should have won that game if not for the horrible calls. Then nobody would be calling for firings . Right Gerry ?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
Like I said, it could have easily gone the other way. Just like Denver. And, all the people talking about not making adjustments, I guess they forget what happened in Jacksonville two weeks ago when the Steelers performed one of the most remarkable offensive and defensive turnarounds in the second half I have ever seen. I guess that was too long ago for them to remember. Funny how some people take offense when I generalize about the lack of patience, understanding and appreciation among the public of what success they get to witness from their team year after year, decade after decade. Wonder why they take it personally????
11:38
Well, kids, that's all the time we have today. Come back next week to see what happens in Oakland.
