OK, kids, lets get our chat started. I see questions already there so here we go...
Rob

Gerry, How many of this year's draft picks do you actually see getting playing time?
Gerry Dulac
10:58
The long snapper, I believe, will be the only rookie who will be a starter, at least right away. But, make no mistake, TJ Watt will get a lot of playing time, as will JuJu. Cam Sutton, I think, will surprise people and will eventually see time in the nickel.

Will the Steelers carry 3 QB's?
Gerry Dulac
10:58
Of course. They do every year
Johnny
10:59
Which will have more impact on the defense? The loss of Timmons or the Gain of Cam back?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
Having Cam back. There is a bigger difference between Heyward and his backup than Timmons and Vince Williams. Very easy
Bob Sacamento
10:59
Which one of 2016 draft class steps up and makes the most improvement from last year?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
I think you will see Artie Burns be more of a factor this year.
Barry Foster
11:00
Hi Gerry - What inspired you to be a sportswriter? Were there sportswriters from your early years that inspired you to go into this career?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
My dad was in the business, so I was always around newspapers and newspaper people
Buckeye Chuck
11:00
What is most likely to happen this season? 1) MB does not violate all year. 2) L.Green plays in more than 8 games. 3) TJ Watt gets 5 or more sacks. 4) Ben leads the league in passing yards.
Gerry Dulac
11:01
Good question, Buckeye: I'll go with No. 3
Johnny B.
11:01
Cam was injured all of last year.
Gerry Dulac
11:01
Not all of last year. Just the final 10-12 games, counting postseason
Jrod
11:01
I thought obi would be a good 2nd rder to trade up for, or even Josh Jones. They rarely trade up. What would be a position we trade up for next her if that day comes?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
I didn't think he was worth trading up for, and apparently neither did the Steelers. But he was one of their second-round targets, along with CB Kevin King.
Buckeye Chuck
11:02
I seen numbers were issued to Watt and Conner, did JuJu and Sutton receive numbers?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
Yes, but I forget what they were. Ill check

How serious are the steelers looking for d-backfield help,? are they just kicking tires or driving the price up on the remaining free agents since they already seem to command a higher price than we can afford???
Gerry Dulac
11:05
They are not looking for any top-flight DBs. They are done with that after the draft
me
11:05
When do you expect Martavis Bryant to be back at the Steelers facility?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
I imagine for OTAs, which begin next week. Unless there is some reason he can't attend, he'd be stupid not to be there. Then again.....
Buckeye Chuck
11:05
The Pats are the best at customizing their game plans to fit their opponents. Would you like to Steelers adapt more to expose their opponents, or just stick with their "we do what we do best" philosophy? Thanks for the chat Gerry.
Gerry Dulac
11:06
Contrary to what you might believe, the Steelers do tailor their game plan for each opponent, offensively and defensively. But that doesn't mean they get away from what they do best.

11:07
Do you know if they gave Keenan Lewis a physical when he visited? I'm wondering if he's physically able to play yet.
Gerry Dulac
11:07
Yes they did, though I don't know the results of what they discovered.
11:08
I will try to find out about Keenan
11:10
Am I having technical difficulties or have you guys gone silent on me...??
TK
11:10
Do you think they drafted TJ Watt in part because he's JJ Watt's brother?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
Not at all. But, he was drafted because, in part, because he shares the work habits and intensity of his brother. And they think he can be a very good player. I'm on board.

11:13
Are you expecting L. Green to participate in OTA's next week?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
As far as I know, they are expecting him to participate.
Zack B
11:14
Any chance we sign a FA ILB or CB for depth or to compete with a starter? Hodges, at ILB, is better than anyone behind our starters...for example
Gerry Dulac
11:15
I wouldn't be surprised to see an inside LB signed. The depth in the middle is just average, certainly not what it was a couple years ago when Vince Williams and Sean Spence were the backups.

Gerry...Do you ever get the feeling that people, by asking the same questions again and again, are trying to get you to agree with them, no matter how many times you tell them you don't?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
Haha...ya think??
Buckeye Chuck
11:16
JuJu 19, Sutton 20, Adams 99, LS 49, Allen 29, and Dobbs 5
Gerry Dulac
11:16
And there you have it.....dunka!!

I thought the Philly crowd distracting and un-entertaining during the NFL Draft. I found the third round much more enjoyable, with announcements from teams at special locations and players at home with their families. Was the NFL test that as a potential future Draft format? Why just have one big party when you can have a few dozen across the country?
