My understanding is teams control the frequencies used for sideline communication systems. Given the issues that often arise at Gillette stadium, I contend the Patriots may be listening in to the opponents frequency. Is there anything in place to prevent this?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
There is supposed to be but they continue to have on-going problems w the headsets there. Another reason I hate the place

The injury bug has been biting the Steelers harder than most teams in recent years. Any chance that they decide to go a new direction with the strength and condition staff?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
No
Antonio
11:15
Any chance DeAngelo Williams or Shamarko rejoin team if there is an injury?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
There's always a chance. But I wouldn't hold my breath

Seems like a player like Ayers will have a tough time making the 53 man roster. Do you think he would clear waivers if released?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
He didn't make it last year after training camp, either, if you recall. No, I don't think he will clear waivers

Do u think Steelers reached for Watt? Would like another Safety (loved Peppers) as Mitchell still makes me sick with poor tackling and out of position.
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Not at all. To me, it was great pick at No. 30

Gerry, give us the name of a dark horse to make the 53 man roster this season! Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Brian Allen
Paul

Who is more likely to be on the team in 2 years, Bell or Bryant?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Bell
Bobby Bi's
11:17
Who is the backup QB by the end of the season?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Landry Jones
Ryno
11:18
Did you think Watt would still be available by the time the Steelers got to pick in the first round, even though some "experts" had him as a second round pick?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
I thought he could be. I wouldn't have been surprised either way. But I like the pick
Antonio

DeAngelo and Shamarko have alluded that their time with team isn't officially over, leaving room for a return. Do you disagree or are they done?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
To quote former hockey goon Dave "Tiger" Williams, they are done like dinner.
Joey Zippers
11:19
After Dan Rodney's death there were stories about how he didn't complain about paying $6 for lunch at the Steelers facility. Why do they charge anything? I thought it would be free for players and management.
Gerry Dulac
11:20
They don't charge in-season, just during the offseason. Players and coaches eat for free
Tom
11:20
Can J Hawkins win a starting job at T this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
Probably not, but he looks very good. Maybe in another year
Pitz
11:20
Is the long snapper competition a real competition or is it the new guys to lose?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
I think the job is his. Greg Warren is 36 and entering 14th season. I think they will move on, unless Holba is a disaster
Ryno
11:21
Do you see the Bengals or Ravens as being tougher to beat this season?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
I always think the Ravens are a tougher out. It's been proven the past 3-4 years

I saw the report by Ed B. of the Bart Houston signing. Obviously, they are bringing him in as a camp arm. What is the main factor in selecting a guy for that role? Availability? Playing style?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
An extra arm for camp and OTAs. That's all.
JW
11:23
I know it was practice in shorts, but Did Cam Sutton show any potential in rookie camp?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Yes he did. Reacts real well to the ball. I think he will be a pleasant surprise.

My feeling is in order for this team to take that next step, that a few rookies will need to make a significant impact. JuJu, Watt and Sutton will need to play well and help with special teams. I think JuJu has the best chance considering how mediocre the receivers were out side of Brown. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
I disagree that they have to make a significant impact. After all, they got within one step of the Super Bowl last season and the entire starting team is back, with the exception of Timmons and Markus Wheaton. But I think those players will have to have some impact for sure, especially Watt.
KPD
11:26
Do you see TJ Watt potentially moving to ILB
Gerry Dulac
11:26
Nope
Jeremiah L.
11:27
I know it's not true because I know how talented an all-purpose RB he is and his work ethic, his heart, his passion, his leadership, all qualities you/us/or anybody would want on a team... but still, a lot of people think James Conner was a pity pick, especially since the Perine kid, who some say will be starting in Washington by season's end, was still on the board... Any thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:27
Was not a pity pick at all. If he were drafted in the sixth or seventh round I might be inclined to think that is possible. But not third round.

Does a punt returner have to be better than Brown to take his place this year on Punt returns or simply be a good return man? Even if someone is a step down, it may be worth the rest and protection for AB...
Gerry Dulac
11:28
I think he has to be better, and thats expecting a lot
