Is there any possibility a Cleveland or Giants would trade their first rounder for Bell?  The more and more his signing becomes a reality it just seems like a mistake...talented...yes...but overall for the steelers that money could be more well spent elsewhere...thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
I don't know about who might want him -- Cleveland sound plausible and logical because of Haley -- but I don't totally disagree w you. I think you can find a number of backs in the draft who can average 3.9 yards per carry behind that offensive line and with Ben, A.B. and JuJu. Just look at what DeAngelo Williams did when he filled for Bell. He was leading the AFC in rushing and averaging over 100 yards per game when he started. I don't dimiss Bell's ability, but 3.9 yards per carry at $13-$14 million per year ......??

How long 'till the Steelers resign Timmons? That's what they do.
Gerry Dulac
11:03
As long as he has some speed, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't long at all.

Good Morning Gerry, Other than not getting along with the QB and red zone issues was there any truth to the comments that Todd Haley didn't get along with some of the coaching staff?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
That has been a recurring problem wherever he has worked. That's Todd personality. He can be brusque and frank, but he is a good coach and good talent evaluator

The Steelers consistently have one of the worst punting units in the NFL.  How much of that is because Berry isn't very good versus general special teams issues?  Should the Steelers invest a draft pick in a punter with a better leg?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
He has a strong leg. He is inconsistent. I would worry about punters. Nobody ever won or lost a Super Bowl because of a punter

Hey Gerry...thanks for your time. If Mike Tomlin doesn't make the playoffs this year with a healthy team...what do you think would happen?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
Not making the playoffs is a different matter than not making the Super Bowl. It might make for some discussion, something that doesn't even exist -- and shouldn't exist -- now

Having a very skilled group of folks picking football talent and developing that talent, gets a team into championship.  A very close second is coaching.  I believe we lost to Jags in first quarter and the game because of our lack of tackling.  Is this a good reason or not.
Gerry Dulac
11:07
It's not the reason they lost. They got outplayed and out-physicaled by the Jaguars, on both lines of scrimmage. Poor tackling is endemic to just about the entire NFL, not just the Steelers

Gerry, shouldn't the signing of Chris Boswell be an offseason priority?
Gerry Dulac
11:07
Yes, they actually wanted to extend him last year. I think you will see that happen soon

It seems a large majority of fans and media feel that signing Bell to a long-term contract is a bad idea for reasons well-documented. If they do, do you recall the the most recent player decision the team has made that has been viewed with as much skepticism?
Gerry Dulac
11:09
Not like that. Only thing that comes close, in terms of Pro Bowl caliber players, is when they didn't re-sign Alan Faneca. But Faneca was much older at the time and getting closer to his final years.

Hi Gerry, is there anyone that you see in the 1st round that team would move up to select?
Gerry Dulac
11:09
Too early to tell

How likely is it that the Steelers can do a trade for Bell? I hate to get nothing for the guy almost as much as keeping him at some huge cost while the defense continues to suck.
Gerry Dulac
11:10
I don't know about likely, but I guess it' always a possibility. Keep in mind, the Steelers say they want to sign Bell to a long-term deal. They said that last year too and you see how that played out. Yes, they would like to sign Bell. Left unsaid is at what price.

Does Timmons have anything left in the tank to where it would be worth signing him on the cheap?  I think he wished he had stayed in the burgh, and was a bad fit in Miami.
Gerry Dulac
11:11
I think he is worth signing on the cheap for depth and emergency starter...provided he can still run.
Buckeye Chuck
11:11
What kind of coach is Bradley style wise?  X and O guy, great communicator, the rah-rah type, etc???
Gerry Dulac
11:11
All of the above. Tremendous position coach. Fundamentals, tackling, Xs and Os.

I don’t understand tying up $14 MM on a RB who not only isn’t a breakaway threat but averaged under 4 YPC which was about 30th in the league. We need so much help on D!

Hypothetically, if Shazier recovers and is physically able to play football... what would you do?  Play him?  The way he tackles by leading with his head worries me.  If almost getting paralyzed isn't time to walk away from football, I don't know what is.
Gerry Dulac

Not dealing in hypotheticals

Heard there was a lot of trade interest in M Bryant from a handful of teams.  I would trade him in a heartbeat if you could get fair value.  Would you?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
Don't know what you think is fair market value, but with his suspension history I'd be surprised if they'd get anything more than a fifth-round pick
REID
11:13
Gerry, do you think Tomlin learns anything from last year and let’s Ben loose in game 1 instead of waiting 6 weeks? Put the offense in your HOF QB’s hands!!!!
Gerry Dulac
11:13
They were 13-3 last year in the regular season. I think they have an idea how they want to operate
Buckeye Chuck
11:13
I read that Tomlin stated that the Steelers would trade up a few spots to get Evans from Alabama.  Why would you state your strategy about your willingness to move up, and name the player you are targeting?  You just gave away valuable info to 31 other teams.  I wouldn't waste a draft pick to move up 2 or 3 positions anyway, would you?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
I'd like to know where Tomlin stated that because Tomlin hasn't spoken to the media since his final press conference...and won't again until the owners meetings in March

Gerry, I'm thinking there's a very strong possibility Timmons returns to improve our ILB depth. What say you?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
Probably good thinking. The Steelers didn't want Timmons to leave last year, though they knew they had to reduce his contract value. I can see him coming back the same way Larry Foote did in the mid-2000s

Hi Gerry,  All of a sudden #10 is being talked about as trade bait.  How serious is this, to me it seems besides 84 and 19, were pretty thin if we trade him.
Gerry Dulac
11:16
Trade bait for a fifth-round pick?? And how is doing the talking? Twitter?

Do you think The Steelers will carry the BELL negotiations  all the way til July if they tag him
