Good morning from sunny Orlando and the NFL owners meetings. We will start our chat in just a few minutes so get your questions ready.

OK kids, lets get this chat started...

Good morning, Gerry. In an interview this week Colbert is quoted as saying he's more encouraged by Dupree's potential than concerned by it. Does this indicate the Steelers going to opt for Dupree's 5th year to you?
Gerry Dulac
9:53
I think he is just posturing for the public's sake. I would be concerned more than encouraged, based on what I see. I wouldn't do it, not now, because It will cost them more money than you would want to commit to a guy who has never had more than six sacks in a season. While you can always rescind the option, the Steelers don't typically operate that way

Have the Steelers had any offers for Lbell?
Gerry Dulac
9:53
Not aware of any

Gerry, when does the regular season schedule come out? Any idea on that?
Gerry Dulac

Usually in late April

What will they do with Bud Dupree? Exercise his option or not?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
I wouldn't

Do you see a scenerio where the Steelers don’t go 1) ILB 2) RB 3) S , or those 3 in some order? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
9:55
Sure, but I think ILB will still be No. 1

Hello Gerry, thanks for your time and efforts to educate us fans. I am very excited about what the Steelers have done in free agency and think they did a lot more than most people think. The ability to move to any position they have graded in the draft is huge. With that said, is there an O lineman sitting out there under the radar that they are going to snag. The line has taken a couple of hits and contracts are coming due. Youth and stability are important moving forward.
Gerry Dulac
9:56
I do not think they will be addressing their offensive line until the third day of the draft. Their top six and seven positions are set -- not many teams can say that -- so it's not much of a priority.

Any idea if,or how big the rift between Haley and Ben was. It seems that the retirement talk feel off the cliff as soon as Haley was gone.
Gerry Dulac
9:57
So what does that tell you..??

Hi Gerry, why do 'fan's' and the so called 'expert's' keep saying the Steelers need to draft a QB in rd 1 IF available? I find this ridiculously stupid for lack of a better term because the team as a whole is in WIN NOW mode. They have far more pressing needs, although i will agree with the recent signings it does leave the door wide open to any position EXCEPT QB.
Gerry Dulac
9:58
You used the proper word -- "so-called."

I actually like Bell and appreciate his abilities, but for some reason the running game lacks that splash play ability. I don't ever see this team pulling off the occasional 40-50 yard burst for a TD that you see on the Monday highlight reels from other teams. Why can't this Oline and Bell make those type of plays?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
He had three runs over 20 yards last season, none longer than 27. So you are correct. And he averaged 3.9 yards a carry.

Hi Gerry and thanks. So it's #28 and there are no defensive picks that Steelers have a high grade on. What are chances they grab one of the top RB's and pull Bell's tag? In your opinion..thank you.
Gerry Dulac
9:59
I don't think they will, but you just never know

Hi Gerry, Do you think the Steelers would have a better shot of winning the Superbowl if they had offered the 14M to Suh instead of Bell?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
No

Is the franchise tag fully guaranteed upon signing? If so, why would a player sit out training camp and the pre-season?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
It's fully guaranteed for the regular season. Training camp and preseason doesn't matter.

Last I heard, Boswell was on a one-year restricted deal. Is that still the case? And is it a matter of they can't come to terms on a longer deal, or just aren't worried about a longer deal right now?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
They have been wanting to do a longer deal since last year and I think you will see that happen soon
BishkekSteeler

If there is a S an ILB and an OLB graded out as early round 2, and a WR graded out as round 1 still on the board at pick 28 what do you think the Steelers do?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
They never turn their back on a skill player with a high grade.

JJ Wilcox is making over 3 Million dollars, which goes badly against the cap space. How likely is it that the Steelers cut bait with him so they can address other needs through FA and the Draft?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
That could still happen.

In your opinion...most interesting thing Tomlin had to say this morning?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
John Mitchell will no longer be an on-field coach. That, and Tomlin doesn't like end zone celebrations
BishkekSteeler
10:08
Who is cagier, Tomlin or Colbert?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Tomlin
TK
10:08
If Tomlin doesn't like end zone celebrations, why doesn't he discipline his players for them, especially when they get 15-yard penalties?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
I don't think it's a good idea for locker-room harmony to fine players for something that is permissible by the league.

Hi Gerry, If the Steelers do extend Ben this off season do you think he takes a Brees contract (personally I think Ben is better regardless of overall stats) OR do you think Ben would try to more or less set the new 'high'?
Gerry Dulac
10:10
Ben has never been about setting a new high. To his credit, he will take what he feels is best for him, not to set any type of standard. Is LeV Bell listening?????
