Good Morning Gerry.  Which do you think has more benefit.  Drafting for need or best player available and which approach do you see the Steeler's using this year.
Gerry Dulac
11:23
The Steelers try to take the player with the highest grade at a position of need, very simple. This year, if it's me, I go and get the player who can make the most difference in your defense. If you think you have a Super Bowl roster and have one or two weaknesses that keep you from that, I go and get the player who will make the difference.

Are the off-season workouts open to reporters?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
No, and thank goodness
WATT's UP

Hey Gerry - condolences on losing your partner Ed.  What in your opinion might be the biggest surprise for the Steelers in the upcoming draft?
Gerry Dulac
11:25
That defense won't be the side of the ball they address in the first round
DaquidoBazzini
11:25
What are the chances of signing Joe Haden to an extension? If so ....Wouldn’t this impact the early need for CB?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
They will extend Haden. They are not looking for a CB to start opposite Haden. They are looking for CBs who can play the slot (i.e., cover) better than Mike Hilton. They are looking for playmakers.

Why not give away a second and one of the third round picks to move up and get an impact player
Gerry Dulac
11:26
Sure, but it's not that easy.

Steelers open season Sunday night at NE as only two six packers? Do you have a prediction.? Will open away based on Pirates schedule.
Gerry Dulac
11:27
Yes -- Steelers open the season against the Browns in prime time, either Sunday or Monday night. Probably in Cleveland

Chance that Rothlisbergers team is waiting out the new QB contracts around the league and that the team will wait before they come up with a new mega contract until they see how he does this year.
Gerry Dulac
11:28
Absolutely none

11:28
Gerry, what are your thoughts on the Steelers O-line? Are they as good as advertised (one of if not the best in the NFL), criminally overrated, or somewhere in between? Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:28
They are the best in the league, bar none, though losing Gilbert (when healthy) hurts a bit.
Andy
11:28
Gerry, according to the draft pick value matrix that most teams use, the Steelers could swap picks with Detroit at 8 along with sending 2nd and 4th round picks. Do you see them making a splash attempt to get one of the Devins??
Gerry Dulac
11:29
I would. absolutely.
BIG TEX
11:29
Is it ridiculous that the Steelers haven't started the season at home since 2014, or does the team not really mind?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
I don't think they care. I think they would rather be home more in December than September.

How was your trip?  Your boy Phil played decent. Don’t you feel people are exaggerating saying this is greatest Masters ever? They must all be born after 1986!
Gerry Dulac
11:31
Jack in 86 is greatest sports moment I've watched. Wasn't there in person for that and missed Tiger in 1997. But have attended every one since, 27 in all, and this one ranks right behind those two.
Texas Steeler
11:31
How excited should I be if the Steelers take a CB, WR or other position with their first pick - assuming both Devin's are off the board? I am not convinced there is another player that would make the impact on this team (at #20) that either of these two will.
Gerry Dulac
11:33
As I've said, elite players, difference makers, aren't typically found after the top 7-8 picks. Doesn't mean you can't find or get one after 20. Lot of top picks 5-7 picks have flamed out. Lot of players taken after that, well after that, have become incredible players. You're not going to get too excited w a No. 20 pick like you would if you had a top 3 or 5 pick

I've already written Ben's podium comment when he accepts the Super Bowl Trophy and MVP similar to 2008s 'Who's laughing now Oline', it will go as follows with more emphasis - 'WHO'S LAUGHING NOW AB!!!!' :)
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Like the Steelers, I'm done with Antonio Brown.

11:34
Besides pedigree, what are the other differences between Sarrett and Munchak?
Gerry Dulac
11:34
We will find out. Do not think for a minute there is a comparison between Munch and anyone else.

Daniel Jeremiah had the team taking Kentucky CB Lonnie Johnson in his mock yesterday. Any rumors on that front that you're aware?
Gerry Dulac
11:35
Depends who's gone before that
Lloyd's 3-Count
11:35
Steelers still have $5.8mil in cap space. I don't remember it being this much ... well, ever. (And it might open up once Roethlisberger re-ups.) Think they might be saving for some June 1 cuts?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
Whatever it is, they know what they're doing. They prove it every year. They are the best in the league at navigating the cap and remaining among the upper tier in the league. always

11:36
The team has had a number of RBs in for visits. What round is the highest you could see them taking one?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
Not sure they will take one at all. None higher than 6th though
GSK
11:37
Sorry for the golf question but was that the best Masters or was it Jack in 1986?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
Jack by a mile.
Salami Phil
11:37
With the schedule being released tonight what do you think would be a good week 1 matchup?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
Steelers-Browns prime time
Salami Phil
11:37
Who do you think has the edge in the RT battle come training camp?
Gerry Dulac
11:38
Feiler for sure. He will open as the starter and it will be his spot to lose.
