17M was nonsense. Dont know where you heard that. And the answer to your question is no. It's not like he's coming down on his demands.

Not even in training camp yet and this team has already made headlines saying things that do not need to be said.  It is great for the media and gives them a story to write but very frustrating to hear as a fan, especially after last year.  Are we in for a repeat of 2017?  A team with all the talent in the world but lack of discipline and focus causes them to once again, under achieve?
Gerry Dulac
1:11
I'm sure it is. The last thing you or many people want to hear is a player complaining how the media is putting him under too much scrutiny and needs to express himself more freely, especially when that play could run for Mayor of Social Media

Gerry,  Any differences in OTA and Mini camp practices other than one is mandatory?
Gerry Dulac
1:11
Nope. Same, Boring. Pointless for veterans.

How are a bunch of hybrid safeties going to stop power running teams like the Jags?
Gerry Dulac
1:11
Right. Especially rookies
Andrew
1:11
Do you think the new hybrid safeties will fix the run problem?  I think the Steelers are building their defense to stop teams like the patriots, but won’t be able to stop the dominate running backs.
Gerry Dulac
1:12
That's what we will find out.

Gerry,  How would you grade Butler's defensive game calling compared to Dick Lebeau's? I say below and that is partly to blame for the defense slipping. Have to make adjustments when players hurt.  Patriots seem to get it done.
Gerry Dulac
1:13
I think more so than when LeBeau was here, I think Mike Tomlin's fingerprints are more on the defensive game plan and play-calling now with Keith Butler.

Hi Gerry, I don't see any way we let Jones go and keep Dobbs & Rudolph as the only backups. If something happened that Ben goes down for several games neither would be ready to step in whereas Jones might stand a chance. I see Dobbs as the odd man out and Rudolph as the BU to Ben next year while Jones mentor him on the sidelines this season . . . your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
1:15
Basically, I agree with you. They like Landry Jones and I don't think their plan right now is to trade him. All I said earlier is I wouldn't be surprised if they got thru the preseason, liked what they saw of Rudolph and decided to trade Jones now while they could get something for him

Hi Gerry. When are the Steelers going to get the Boswell deal done?  He has been money for us.
Gerry Dulac
1:15
I thought it would be done by now

Who are your favorites to win the US Open this week?
Gerry Dulac

DJ, Spieth, Day, Rory, JThomas, Fleetwood,

Gerry, since the Steelers are lacking in the run defense, do you think they might revert to the 2 gap style for the defensive line to help stop the run ?
Gerry Dulac
1:17
I don't think. They still play some two-gap stuff. It's not abandon. But this is still a passing league and you better get pressure on the quarterback, especially from the D-line with all the quick passing games. That doesn't happen as much with two-gap

Will the "rumor" that LB dropped his required $$ from $17 to $14.5 a year be what is needed to get the deal done?
Gerry Dulac
1:18
Don't deal in rumors, especially ridiculous ones

Is too much being made of veterans not showing up for optional team workouts? I always viewed it more as those types of things being geared more toward rookies so they could get acclimated to the NFL. Or players that haven't been in the league 10 years.
Gerry Dulac
1:18
Absolutely it is. There is absolutely no need whatsoever for veterans to be at OTAs or minicamp.

Hi Gerry,  I just got my James Washington #13 jersey.  Please make sure he doesn’t change it.  If so, NOT #14!  That number seems as close to a curse as you can get.  Agree?
Gerry Dulac

Haha

I'm a big Jesse James fan. I see a lot of negative comments about him, but he seems to show improvement every year. Am I being delusional, or does he keep showing more every season?  Last season I saw more effort from him in getting extra yards after the catch that I didn't see before.
Gerry Dulac
1:20
Hey Jesse is a dependable target over the middle, a sit-in-the-zone type of player. I don't have a problem at all with him as the No. 2 guy

Any chance the rugby player make the practice squad? He looks like he should play IB
Gerry Dulac
1:20
He is guaranteed the practice squad under the NFL arrangement

Gerry, we barely beat the Browns twice last year, and they have seemingly upgraded significantly in almost every area. With a rusty Bell, how do you feel about our season opener in Cleveland?
Gerry Dulac
1:21
Might be a little more dicey this time. Don't forget the Haley factor
Ryno
1:21
Any eager anticipation of watching Mike Hilton this season? He was a surprise last season, so should we expect even more this year?
Gerry Dulac
1:22
I'm not sure about that. Might even see less playing time because of the role of the big safeties in the nickel and dime packages. You can't line Mike Hilton tight to stop the run. Too small.
Paul
1:22
Hi Gerry, I've heard some say that other defenses are using bigger defensive backs in sub packages like some the Steelers are thinking about. Do you know which defenses those are or which DBs are in those packages?
Gerry Dulac

Seattle for one
OK kids, that's all the time we have today kids. Thanx for the questions
