OK lets get our chat started....Go!!

Is it my blocking or inconsistent hands which are keeping me from reaching my potential?
Gerry Dulac
10:47
Dear Mr X, its those inconsistent hands

Hi Gerry, thanks for your time.  Do you feel the Steelers will add a CB after teams make their cuts or do you feel they will add one via a trade? Or just pass all together? Thanks again Sir
Gerry Dulac
10:49
Hard to say right now, depends how the rest of camp and preseason goes, see if they have problems or injuries. The problem is they havent been able to evaluate cam sutton or golson because of injuries. sutton has yet to be in pads and golson I'm afraid just won't get back in enough time from his hamstring tear

Hi Gerry, IF Ben had retired this off season would you say he is a sure fire first ballot HOF?
Gerry Dulac
10:49
No, not sure-fire. I don't know that he is viewed that way by the rest of the league.

does allen make the team? and at this point what does gay bring to the party?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
I think right now Brian Allen is a practice squad guy. Hasn't shown a lot at camp

Gerry....Is there any realistic return date for LB? Any recent talks with him by Coach, or front office? Thank-You
Gerry Dulac
10:51
By LB, I assume you don't mean linebacker. I think Bell will be back after they leave camp, for sure after the third preseason game. He has nothing to gain by sitting out. He's the one who turned down a long-term offer in excess of $42 million over 4 years. He chose the franchise tag, now he doesn't want to sign it.
Matt
10:51
Do you think if Golson doesn't come back, Sutton will be starting nickel ahead of Gay? Or is Sutton not a slot guy?
Gerry Dulac
10:52
I don't think they were holding out much hope for Golson, even before his injury. And, ideally, yes, that's why they drafted Sutton -- to replace Gay at nickel and eventually become the starter opposite Burns
Matt
10:52
Gerry, Do you think Golson will be back b4 preseason is over? It's a shame I thought he was going to be a great slot corner.
Gerry Dulac
10:53
I'm not sure. He had a pretty good tear of the hamstring and sometimes those things take 4-5 weeks to recover. But he needs to get on the field to show something if he wants to win a roster spot.

Hi Gerry. Love the chats! Excited for this upcoming season. I think our D will be a los better than last year and get us over the hump for number 7. Do you think Shazier's hammy is cause for concern? We need him full go. How do you see the teams health so Far? Thanks for taking my question. Here we go steelers!!!!
Gerry Dulac
10:55
I don't think his hammy is cause for concern, not now at least. They are being very careful w him, not having him practice, and not wanting to use him in a game. They have a lot of players injured but nothing serious it appears. Although Mike Mitchell has been out a long time.

Hi Gerry:  Not a word about Sean Davis this Summer.  Does that mean he is doing great with no mistakes?  Also, 2 more weeks with no Golson on the field.  Is it over for him for good?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
That means he is very solid and Sean Davis-like. Hes very good. Golson going to have a tough time. Can't get on the field to show them anything. And they're not going to carry him a third year on IR. It's a shame but I think his days are numbered.

Hi Gerry. Does Fitzgerald Toussaint make the cut to 53 this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
He should. He's looked very good at camp and he's been a  big special teams contributor. I think that puts him on the team.
Matt
11:05
What's Steelers plan for Brian Allen? Eventual top 4 corner for them?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
Well, that would be the hope. The guy's a physical stud, 6-3, 215, with 4.4 speed. The Steelers havent had a corner that size since, well, Mel Blount. And he can run. And catch. But he has to show he can cover, especially deep balls, which he struggled w in college. I think he's practice squad right now.
Duke
11:06
If Mitchell is out to start the regular season who is the starter with Davis
Gerry Dulac
11:07
I don't think he will be but Robert Golden would be the replacement

What kind of contributions can we expect from Juju this year as a rook?
Gerry Dulac
11:07
I like JuJu and so do they. Catches everything and is tough, especially in the middle of the field. I think you are going to see a lot of JuJu.
Matt
11:07
Any interest from the Steelers for last years draft pick Travis Feeney? Saints claimed him off PS and didn't resign him this offseason.
Gerry Dulac
11:08
Only if they caught short-handed at OLB because of injuries. They are set w the five they have -- 48, 90, 92, 55 and 56
Joe From SoFlo
11:08
Do you truly believe that our defense has improved enough to contain NE's offense (which will be even more lethal with cooks and Gronk)? I don't see us being able to stop them
Gerry Dulac
11:09
The only way to stop them/slow them is with pressure and I think the addition of Watt and the return of Dupree and Heyward will help that immensely.
Bob from Scottsdale
11:09
What is the relationship between Troy Polamalu and the Steelers organization?
Gerry Dulac
11:09
I don't think it's warm and fuzzy on Troy's part. If it is, he's not exactly showing it, which surprises me.
Joe
11:09
juju or eli? who you got starting in the slot?
Gerry Dulac
11:10
Right now it's Eli. But you will see JuJu line a lot of places.
Brian in NYC
11:10
Gerry, Great work by you as always.  I know we signed Knile Davis w/ the expectation of returning kicks but do you know if DHB & JuJu have ever done any work there ?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
DHB has but that's not in their plans. And I don't think JJ is either. They want to use Knile Davis there, if he makes the team.
Matt
11:11
So Keion Adams is a practice squad guy?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
At best
