If Bell eventually leaves, and is signed by a bad team with salary cap space to burn, do you think he would get anywhere near the level of success he enjoys behind the Steeler offense?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
Heck no. Nothing against him but he's running behind one of the best, if not the best, O-lines in the league. Why you think Zeke Elliott had such a good year? He has a great line in front of him. Makes a big difference.

11:12
will we see Landry Jones Sunday?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
I don't think so. He hasn't been back at practice and not sure when that will be. Soon I think, tho
dave
11:13
Is Jerald Hawkins really as bad as he looked on Friday night?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
I didn't watch him enough to evaluate, but I will say this -- I thought I would see more from him this year after what I saw of him as a rookie last year, and I haven't.
Taz
11:13
Will we see BR at all this preseason?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
You will see him Sunday, if by BR you mean Ben Roethlisberger

11:14
12-4, 11-5, 10-6, or 9 wins or fewer?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
12-4 staying injury-free, maybe even 13-3, at worst 11-5.
Joe
11:14
gerry, how bad do you wish we had jarvis back over watt? yeah right. boy i am excited about him!
Gerry Dulac
11:15
TJ Watt looks like the real deal. All football, that guy. Just what they need on the edge. Perfect Steeler!!
Joe From SoFlo
11:15
TJ Watt and Ross Cockrell x factors if steelers want to win a super bowl this year? If not, who are yours?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
Not Cockrell. Non-factor in what they do, meaning he's not going to make or break a season. Watt can make a big difference. So will Bryant.
dave
11:16
They had a lot of trouble scoring TD's in the red zone last season.  Are they doing anything specific to address that?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
Yeah, they're working on it w big receivers like Bryant, Hunter, JuJu. Doesn't mean it will change. We will see
Taz

Feels like the Steelers have had a lot of (thankfully) relatively minor injuries this preseason, particularly in the defensive backfield.  Could that be a blessing in disguise?  Get extra work for young guys; better eval of the back end of the roster?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
It's never viewed as a blessing in disguise, but yes, it has given guys like Dobbs, Mike Hilton, Justin Hunter, a chance to play a lot and make an impact.
dave
11:18
Which of the current injuries seems to be the most serious?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Hard to say because there is no official injury report in training camp like there is during the regular season. But the guys who have been out the longest are Mike Mitchell and Landry Jones, and you don't like to see an explosive guy like Shazier have a hamstring injury
Ryno
11:19
Why do you think Watt lasted so long in the first round?  Other than the other teams thought there were better OLB available?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Bingo. But he did go No. 30
Joe
11:19
which receivers make the 53?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
10-14-17-19-84-88

Any long term concern with the Shazier injury?  Seems never ending.  Thanks GD.
Gerry Dulac
11:20
I think it's disconcerting when he has any injury because he always seems to have something. When healthy, he might be the most disruptive LB in the league
jim
11:20
What is plan b if shazier can not go
Gerry Dulac
11:21
Lets hold off on that for now
DSF
11:21
Gerry,
Ben is good at the deep ball and scramble plays, which don't happen anymore now that the line is better.  But not that good at small space pin point passing, which is why they have so much trouble in the red zone (and reading defenses).  Agree or disagree?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
I strongly disagree. Ben is good anywhere on the field
gary@northernVirginia
11:22
Gerry....Which do you think is the most likely scenario for Gholston, IR, PS, or cut? Does he still have an NFL future?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Cut. They won't put him on IR, but I guess there's always a chance for the practice squad. Some team might take a chance on him but not if he hasn't played in 3 years.
dave
11:23
One way to avoid playing a playoff game in NE would be to stop losing games to bad teams so you can go 13-3 instead of 10-6.  Do you have any thoughts on why this has been such a problem in recent seasons?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Well, you're right, and that's what the Steelers are hoping to do -- get the No. 1 seed and not have to worry about playing in NE or anywhere else on the road.
Rick
11:24
So you are saying Ben will play a series Sunday?
Gerry Dulac
11:24
That's what I'm saying. Maybe 2
jim
11:24
I HAVE A STRONG POSITIVE FEELING ABOUT THIS YEARS TEA AND I AM NEVER AN OPTIMIST, WHAT SHOULD I BE DOING?
Gerry Dulac
11:24
I think you are on the right track. They can be very good
Ben Roethlisberger
11:24
Who is my backup for this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:24
Same as last year
