Can't someone else take over punt return duties? Zero tolerance for fumbles...Eli Rogers should be benched!
Gerry Dulac
11:22
It was just one. And he lost it in the sun.

Haley gushed over Eli Rogers, calling him the best slot WR he's coached. He had no targets Sunday. They need a reliable receiver besides AB. Has he not been getting open or has Ben been locked on Brown?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
It wasn't just Haley, it was also Ben. But what they said was he was the best slot receiver they've had at the Steelers, not ever. But Ben admitted today he might be getting locked on AB a little too much instead of trying to take what the offense is giving him

It is one game and I don't think panic needs to set in. But they have a ton of proven talent. You are around this team a lot, do they have the leadership in the locker room needed to win a SB? To me strong minded teams block out things like the anthem and win games like Sunday.
Gerry Dulac
11:24
They do.

I noticed Martavis Bryant was on the sideline watching the final offensive drive in the 4th quarter....any insight into why?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
I don't right now. It was only three plays.

I am curious, back in the day Ben was not well liked in his own locker room, how much has that changed now and is he respected as a leader now? Can you command the respect to turn this team around? I feel like teams with strong leadership don't panic and win games when they need to.
Gerry Dulac
11:30
I don't think ben or anyone in that locker room is panicking. They never do. That's why they've been successful for sooo many years.

The NFL can make all this go away immediately if the players and owners simply stand for the national anthem this week. Everybody doesn't need to lock arms throughout the stadium as suggested by Aaron Rogers. JUST PLAY FOOTBALL thats what people want to see period!!They don't care about the players political views there are enough talk shows to argue your opinion this is our escape!
Gerry Dulac
11:31
You are right and I agree but I think that's an idealistic view where everyone agrees on everything and everyone gets along.

I still don't understand it....the Bears offense was having virtually no success in the air....why couldn't the Steelers defense key in on the run?
Gerry Dulac
11:31
They tried. And failed.

Hi Gerry, thanks for your time. I think Shazier is a great linebacker, he gets to the play so fast, but whats up with him not wrapping up? I feel like so plays were extended due to his poor tackling.  thank you
Gerry Dulac
11:32
You are correct. He sometimes plays too fast and overruns plays. When he tries to reach back and make the tackle, he's not in position to get the job done

This inability to stop the run reminds me of the regular season game against the Dolphins last year....wasn't that considered a turning point for the defense?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
I don't know if it was a turning point because the Patriots rushed for 140-some yards the following week. But they tightened after that game and were decent against the run and didn't get gouged for the rest of the season for the most part.

Hi Gerry, from the naked eye it seems as BB is forcing the ball to AB. With having so many weapons at your disposal wouldn’t it be wise to use some of the weapons to take the pressure off AB?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
That's what Ben said earlier today in the locker, that maybe he is focusing in on AB too much

Gerry, as a 26 year Air Force veteran, Pittsburgh native, and die hard Steelers fan I was disappointed that the team stayed in the tunnel during the national anthem, but that is their right as Americans and I understand it and am not holding a grudge. But as I watched the game, looking at the turnovers, overthrown passes, missed tackles, do you think the they lost focus as a result of what took place during the national anthem?
Gerry Dulac
11:44
Jeff, I'm not saying they did cause I don't think so, but both Ben and Mike Tomlin suggested it could have been a factor. Of course, so could have the sun, the heat, the wind off the Lake, the deep-dish pizza the night before, the walks on Lake Shore Drive, dinner at Gibson's, the Blackhawks game, Cubs fever, who knows.

Gerry,  Regarding the poor performance of the run defense is more of the coaches not getting a good game plan in place or player performance?  Do not seem to adjust quickly enough.
Gerry Dulac
11:45
Little of both. Bad performance and failure to adjust. They did a decent job (relative term) in the third quarter then it all fell apart in the overtime again.

Hey Jerry, how much of the Jaguars' game plan can be used against the Ravens this week? Do the Steelers take a long look at those tapes offensively and defensively...or do they go with the philosophy that what worked last week may not work this week? Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:46
yes they do. They see what was working and try to utilize some of that, just as the Ravens will see how the Bears gouged the Steelers run defense. But it's one thing to know what to try to do, it's still another to go out and do it.
11:47
Well, kids, there's so many questions and so little time, so we'll have to continue or discussion next week. Thanx for the questions
