I think a guy like C.J. McCollum would be a perfect trade target for them, but he may not be available this summer, so I'd have to take a closer look at guys who might qualify as a poor man's McCollum and who would be more obtainable. I'm also curious to see just how committed they are to Ben Simmons as the point guard. If he's going to play there full-time, they probably wouldn't go after a PG like Jrue Holiday in free agency, but Simmons has yet to play an NBA game, so it seems like the safe play would be to pursue a solid veteran PG to complement him.

Can Raptors pass the Wizards and Celtics without Lowry? They have something they haven't had in year, defence
Luke Adams

The defense has definitely been better with the new additions, but even with Lowry, their offense was sometimes a little stagnant. It's looked worse without him, so I question whether they'll be able to score enough in the next few weeks to make that sort of run.

What can the Hawks do to compete in the east and for a championship? Status quo isn't cutting it.

The Hawks sort of remind me of the Sixers in the pre-Hinkie era. They're generally good enough to make the playoffs, and occasionally they could even win a round, but they're not a serious title contender. Taking the Hinkie approach and bottoming out would be one strategy, but I get the sense that the current management/ownership group would rather keep winning and hope to find a way to add one more impact player and take a step forward. There were rumors at the deadline that they offered a ton of draft picks to Indiana for Paul George -- maybe a deal like that (for PG13 or another player) becomes available for them in the next year or two and they're able to make a more serious run.

What is your take on the Bucks? I've never been one for tanking but feel like if there is ever a time, it's now.
Luke Adams
3:26
Agreed. They have a bunch of interesting pieces on the team, including a potential franchise player in Giannis. There's no guarantee that getting, say, the 8th or 9th pick in the draft will get them another potential starter to go along with Giannis, Parker, Middleton, and Maker, but I still feel like that should be their priority now.

Do you think any teams will have any hesitation about drafting Lonzo Ball knowing the things his dad has said and could possibly say in the future that could be a distraction?
Luke Adams
3:28
That's potentially the sort of thing that could make a team lean toward Fultz instead of Ball, but I don't think it's a significant cause for concern -- he's still too talented to pass up. Still, if you get a chance to interview him during the pre-draft process, I imagine you'll be asking him a few questions about his dad's influence.
3:30
That's all the time I have for today. I appreciate the questions! Early March isn't exactly as exciting a time as the weeks leading up to the deadline, but we should have more fun rumors and reports to discuss as the summer nears.
Enjoy the rest of your Monday, everyone!
