Luke Adams
11:31
Hey guys, things will get underway at 12:00pm CT, but feel free to submit your questions early!

Now that Clint Capela is out will the rockets pursue a center before the deadline
Luke Adams
12:01
I still think a three-and-D type wing will be their top priority. That's a piece they've been missing all season, whereas they should be okay at center once Capela is back.
12:02
They'll keep an eye out for a center though. The buyout market could be an option too.

12:02
What will happen with the Beal, Carmelo and AD? And what are some possible trades for all 3
Luke Adams
12:03
I'd be shocked if Beal or AD went anywhere this season. Davis won't go on the trade block unless/until he turns down a super-max extension offer, and I suspect the Wizards are becoming increasingly convinced that they should build around Beal rather than ditching him for future assets.
12:04
Of the three, Carmelo is easily the most likely to be traded before the deadline, but that probably won't be an exciting deal. Carmelo + a little cash for a heavily protected 2nd round pick is the sort of trade I can see the Rockets making, since it would reduce their tax bill.

12:04
Iguodala and Livingston for Hassan Whiteside?  Their salaries lineup, allowing for a trade.  Relying on DeMarcus Cousins would be foolish.
Luke Adams
12:05
The Warriors don't have a ton of depth, so I don't see them making any sort of 2-for-1 trade where they give up multiple rotation players. They'll need those guys in the playoffs -- they probably don't need an impact center to win another title.

I think the Knicks should get rid of THJ more than anyone. Get rid of hefty salary and enter the next tier of tank mode. Agree/Disagree?
Luke Adams
12:06
Not sure there's another tier for them to drop to -- they're already just 1.5 games away from having the worst record in the NBA.
12:07
I don't think moving THJ is a must unless the Knicks feel confident that an impact FA or two is going to come to NY in the offseason. He'll be easier to move next season if they want to.

Think the raptors make a big trade? try to go all in for another all-star? Or are they most likely to do nothing/a small buyout guy?
Luke Adams
12:09
It's hard to envision how the Raptors would make another big move. If a guy like Marc Gasol becomes available, maaaaybe I could see a fit there, but I think a small-scale move is much more likely. If they do anything at all.

It's time to blow things up!  How many first round picks for next year can the Cavs net by dealing Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Alec Burks, Rodney Hood, J.R. Smith, Channing Frye and David Nwaba?
Luke Adams
12:11
The return for a lot of those guys would depend on how much bad money the Cavs are willing to take back. Still, I think Cleveland would be hard-pressed to get a first-rounder for any of them except maybe Love, and I doubt he'll go anywhere by February 7 if he's still not healthy.

Do you see Celtics, Rockets, OKC or Lakers making a significant move that could add intrigue come playoffs? I think the Warriors can be had but most teams are missing the one piece to really challenge them.
Luke Adams
12:12
The Rockets are the most likely one of those teams to do something major -- it was just a few months ago that they offered four first-round picks for Jimmy Butler.
12:13
Celtics and Lakers will likely hold onto most of their assets in the hopes of chasing Anthony Davis in the summer. OKC could look to make a splash, but their cap situation isn't all that great for matching salaries in a major trade.

12:13
Brandon Ingram looks lost in the Laker offense, is he losing value as the season goes on?
Luke Adams
12:14
His value would certainly be higher if he were thriving alongside LeBron, but he's still only 21 and looking lost in an offense is something that can be fixed. I think potential trade partners would still be a lot more optimistic about their ability to turn him around than they'd be about, say, Markelle Fultz.

12:14
Will Orlando make a Trade?
Luke Adams
12:15
I expect them to be active, but I really don't have a sense of what kind of deal they'll make, considering they're still very much in the Eastern playoff race.
12:16
Personally, I'd rather look ahead a year or two and see what I could get for guys like Ross, Simmons, and Vucevic right now, rather than competing for a possible No. 8 seed. But a lot of those teams near the back of the East playoff picture REALLY want to make the postseason.
Heat’s wing players
12:16
Miami has a glut of wing players.  Which player is likely to be traded?
Luke Adams
12:17
Wayne Ellington looks like the most obvious candidate to me, as he's already out of the rotation and his contract is the most manageable (one year, $6.3MM). Most of the other guys are on more expensive multiyear deals. Plus, Ellington has the sort of skill set to step into an offense and contribute right away without having to make many adjustments.
Having said that, it wouldn't shock me if the Heat are finally able to move one or two of those bigger contracts -- it seems bound to happen at some point.
Free Robin Lopez
12:18
It’s very unrealistic the Bulls will get a Draft pick along with a bloated contract for RoLo, correct?
Luke Adams
12:20
I'm not sure what the Bulls' plan is for Lopez. I actually think they could get a decent return if they took a multiyear contract back for Lopez (if not a 1st, then at least a couple 2nds). But it seems they'd rather preserve 2019 cap room. I'm not sure why. They don't seem on the verge of contention and I don't expect any top free agents to give them serious consideration.
Malik
12:20
What are some targets for the Sixers? What's the update on Fultz, I thought we're going to get some feedback after 3-6 weeks...well its been 6 weeks
Luke Adams
12:21
Unless the Sixers can share some really positive news on Fultz on the trade deadline, I doubt we hear much about him or see him back on the court anytime soon. They're typically pretty tight-lipped on these things anyway, and maybe it would benefit Fultz to keep him out of the spotlight for a while.
12:23
As for potential targets, power forwards and shooters seem like the most obvious fits for them. Someone that can do both (ie. Noah Vonleh) makes sense to me. It'll be interesting to see if they make another trade or rely on the buyout market. I don't expect guys like Belinelli and Ilyasova to fall into their laps again, but it'd be a pretty good situation for a veteran looking for playing time.

12:23
Do you see my spurs making a trade?
Luke Adams
12:24
I've looked at their roster a few times trying to figure out what they might do at the deadline, and it's hard to come up with much. They don't really have a history of shaking things up drastically in-season, and I'd be surprised if they did so this year.
Patrick McCaw rule
12:25
Will we see the League come up with a Patrick McCaw Rule, to close up a loophole, ala the Gilbert Arenas Rule.  For all the Hate against the Warriors, they did get screwed out of both of those players via Loopholes.
Luke Adams
12:26
It makes sense to address this, maybe even before the next full CBA negotiation. It could just be as easy as ruling that the first year of an offer sheet has to be guaranteed. That's already a rule for sign-and-trade contracts.
Nathan
12:27
Realistic expectations for Boogie this year? 8ppg/6rpg?
Luke Adams
12:28
I have no idea what to expect from Boogie. Guys coming back during the season from major leg injuries (Achilles or ACL tears) typically take a while to get going and don't look like their old selves for a year or two -- if ever. But he's also in such a great situation that it might be hard for him NOT to thrive.
12:29
I expect his per-minute numbers and his efficiency stats to be pretty good -- it'll just a be a matter of how much he actually plays.
Willie Reed
12:29
How close was I towards getting a 10-Day contract?   Shoulder injury occurred at the worst time.
