Do you think Russell Westbrook is traded before the deadline? If yes, any teams make sense?
Luke Adams

I'd be a bit surprised. He's a good insurance policy to have in case one or more of the Clippers' stars gets injured (which... has been known to happen).

Is Brown a good fit for Philly? Would he be a difference maker there?
Luke Adams
9:46
(Assuming we're talking Bruce Brown here.) I don't hate that fit at all. Melton is sort of a similar player, so maybe they'd be concerned about the overlap there, but he's having some back problems, and the Sixers certainly have the expiring contracts to match Brown's $22MM salary.
9:47
I'd normally say that the Sixers wouldn't want to give up a first-round pick for Brown, but that 2026 least favorable pick they control (from OKC/LAC/Hou) doesn't have a ton of value, since it's a good bet to be in the mid/late-20s. Maybe it could work in a deal like that, unless Philadelphia wants to hang onto it to throw it into a bigger deal.

Everyone who was questioning my pairing and fit with Kuzma is being proven right so far.  How soon do you see one of us being moved?
Luke Adams

Your trade value is pretty much non-existent at this point, so I doubt the Wizards will sell low on you in the next few weeks -- they have plenty of time to let you rebuild your value. Kuzma is a better trade candidate, but the asking price will probably be high. I won't be surprised if you're both still Wizards at the end of the season, or even at the start of next season.
You're both under contract for several seasons, and the Wizards are in no rush to improve on the court, given that they'd like to add a couple high lottery picks to this core.

Think a Town's for Capella/Murray works for both sides? Minnesota grabs a guard to replace or fill in for Conley if they can't resign him and Naz steps into the KAT role but with better offensive efficiency. Thanks.

In terms of pure value and fit, it's an intriguing idea. Not perfect, necessarily, since a Trae/Towns duo would be trouble defensively, but intriguing. It's just not the sort of major shake-up a 29-11 team like the Wolves would make during the season though. Their goal will be to improve around the edges by moving players far less important than KAT.

Chris Finch for coach of the year ... and it's not even close, right?
Luke Adams

Mark Daigneault might have something to say about that.

It seems like Masai gets a free pass on his poor trades and lack of action until one of his players value is lower.  Is he a made man after 1 title?
Luke Adams
9:53
He still has way more hits than misses on his record, and the return in the OG trade was strong. To more directly answer your question, yes, probably.
Bulls trade
9:54
Where do you see Lavine and Demarr get traded too that makes sense
Luke Adams
9:55
Starting to think they both might still be Bulls beyond the deadline. There are some fits that make sense, but I'm skeptical the Bulls will get the kind of offers they'd deem worth it to move them.

Am I on a minutes restriction? I feel like I am falling out of the ROY chase.
Luke Adams
9:57
You've played 30+ in seven of the past eight games, with the only exception being that 62-point win over Portland. Given what Wemby's doing with his minutes restriction, maybe you need one! Really motivate you to take advantage of your time on the court, you know?

(In all seriousness, I'm glad Wembanyama is making the ROY an interesting one. It's looking like either player will be a very worth winner.)

What does Rob Pelinka do? I like the idea of a full swap and getting D. Murray, Bogs, and Capela from the Hawks. It’s a swing for the fences move when they don’t have much to swing…

In terms of salary-matching, that would probably mean moving Reaves and Hachimura along with Vincent and D-Lo. Throw in a 2029 first-round pick, and would that be enough for Atlanta? Or could they get more by trading those guys separately? I like Reaves and Hachimura, and that 2029 pick could be valuable if there's no protection on it, but I'm still not sure the Hawks pull the trigger on that.

Jimmy Butler is recording county music songs for an album. Will you listen to it?

Haven't made a habit out of listening to NBA players' musical endeavors in the past -- I suspect that won't be the one to make me change my mind.

Thanks for the questions today, guys! We'll be back early next week (either Mon. or Tues.) with another live chat, hosted by Dana Gauruder, then my next one will be next Thurs.
Have a great weekend!
