Luke Adams
11:50
Hey guys. Feel free to start firing off questions. We'll get things going in about 10-15 minutes.

What can the grizz expect to get for Gasol?
Luke Adams
12:05
It depends what sort of contract(s) they're willing to take back for matching purposes. If they're OK with taking back a pricey multiyear deal (sorta like the one they already have with Parsons), they should be able to get at least two strong assets -- maybe a solid first-round pick and a good young player. If they don't want to take back bad multiyear money, it might be tricky to get more than one really good asset back.

Should Siakam be an all-star?
Luke Adams
12:06
I love watching Siakam play, but I'm not sure he's quite an All-Star yet. With Oladipo out, there's another spot open, which increases his chances. But I'd want to make sure other borderline guys like Lowry and Russell are in before I commit to making Siakam one of my 12.

Will I make a move to duck under the tax?
Luke Adams
12:08
I don't see an obvious move. Before the season, dumping Marcus Morris for a future pick looked like a viable possibility, but he's been so important to the team that the idea seems ridiculous now. There's not really another easy path to sneaking under without really shaking things up.

What teams would be a good fit for Frank Kaminsky, Dragan Bender, Marquese Chriss, Skal Labssiere etc? all players who are busts and pretty much the same player
Luke Adams
12:10
The Knicks have shown a willingness to roll the dice on former lottery picks in the hopes of unlocking some of their potential, and it actually hasn't worked too badly in some cases (Mudiay, Vonleh, etc.). Maybe they have enough of those guys now, but other teams at the bottom of the standings could try a similar approach. Those guys wouldn't get minutes on contenders.

I’ve looked better since Ryan Saunders took over.  More aggressive  You buying that I’m finally turning the corner and that a new coach finally get my athleticism to kick in and make me a worthwhile 2 way player for the Wolves?
Luke Adams
12:10
I think you still have plenty of room to improve. I'm not sure you'll ever be worth your max contract, but I could see you at least entering the Otto Porter Zone -- overpaid, but useful.
Vic Oladipo
12:11
Pacers have to make a move to get a guard. Any possibilities?
Luke Adams
12:12
Are we sure they HAVE to? They did OK during Oladipo's previous injury absence with a Joseph/Collison/Tyreke/Holiday backcourt rotation. Another piece would be nice - especially if someone else gets hurt - but Indiana isn't competing for a title this season either way, so I'm not sure any sort of major move (ie. Conley) would make sense.

Predictions on where Conley and Gasol will go and what Memphis will get back? What other Memphis players will be on the block? Mack? Green? Casspi?
Luke Adams
12:14
I'm unconvinced that the Grizzlies will move both Conley and Gasol by the deadline. I think a Gasol deal is far more likely, since he could be a free agent this summer, whereas Conley will probably be around for a couple more years. Dallas, Utah, and Detroit are my favorite Conley destinations.
As for other Grizzlies on the block, Temple and Green look like the ones to watch closest. They'd have real value to playoff teams.

Will KCP be traded from the Lakers in any kind of deal?
Luke Adams
12:16
Trading KCP is somewhat tricky since he has the right to veto any deal, so he won't sign off on any trade sending him to a bottom-feeder. Plus, even though he's the Lakers' best salary-matching piece, he's kind of an important rotation player too. He's been much better since his slow start and dealing him would leave a hole on the wing.

Any rumors lately about the Kings?  Do you feel they must do something?
Luke Adams
12:18
It'd be a big missed opportunity if they don't do SOMETHING with their $11MM in cap room. Theoretically, it could be useful around the draft as well, but it's a better asset now -- lots of teams will have cap room in July, so one of those teams could agree to a deal at the draft and finalize it when they open up space in July. Right now, only the Kings have cap room.

12:18
What is your best guess about what the kings are going to do?  Do you think they will add a short term player, try to recoup a draft pick since the don't have a 1st, or save up to try to sign someone next year?  If it is a player, who do you think it will be?
Luke Adams
12:19
I think they'd prefer a player who could help right away and be a long-term fixture. Like a Harrison Barnes or Otto Porter type wing. Don't get the sense that either the Mavs or Wizards would be willing to give up a player like that though, and I'm not sure the Kings would want to settle for someone like Kent Bazemore instead.

C's should test the market for kryire Irving, my guess is he is gone this summer
Luke Adams
12:20
I'm sort of surprised that there's still so much speculation about Kyrie jumping ship after he publicly and privately committed to staying last fall. That felt to me like a stronger statement than the usual "Sure, I'd love to stay" comments that free-agents-to-be make.
12:21
I suppose it's possible that he'll test the market if the C's get knocked out in the first or second round of the playoffs, but I think things would have to get pretty bad in Boston for that to be realistic. Don't think there's any chance they consider trading him.

Will the bucks make a move at the trade deadline
Luke Adams
12:23
I'd expect a quiet deadline from the Bucks, with a focus on some guys on the buyout market. Maybe they use Jason Smith's contract to get one more guy who could help (Wayne Ellington?), but the George Hill trade looked like their big in-season move.
Andrew
12:23
Out of Dedmon, Lin, Bazemore and Prince, how many will be Hawks on Feb 8th?
Luke Adams
12:25
They should probably move at least three of those guys, but I'm a little wary of the Hawks' approach to the deadline after they failed to move Ilyasova and Belinelli last year. Hopefully they're a little more aggressive about making deals this time around, even if it means adding a little salary to the books for 2019/20.

12:25
Do you agree with the all star game starters?
Luke Adams
12:26
I'd have Beal in place of Kemba. And I'd probably try to find a way to get at least one of AD or Jokic into the starting lineup (LeBron's four-week injury absence should cost him a starting spot). But it's hard to complain too much about the 10 guys who made it.

12:27
Any chance the Pistons want to/are able to trade Griffin to help reset their cap situation and maybe get some young talent moving forward?
Luke Adams
12:28
I can't see it. Ownership and management aren't talking like they want to blow things up, and it seems as if they're really happy with how the Griffin trade worked out. There's probably a lot they'd be willing to change AROUND Blake, but I'd be shocked if he went anywhere anytime soon.
Brett
12:28
Do you see the Raps making any moves at the deadline?
Luke Adams
12:30
It'll be hard for them to do much, since the contracts they'd most want to move in a trade have undesirable long-term money (Miles, Powell). I also think they like their team when it's actually fully healthy, which hasn't happened often this season. I'd be surprised if they did anything major.
Gorgui Dieng/Bismack Biyambo
12:30
Any market for these 2 overpaid Bigs?
Luke Adams
12:30
Not unless you're willing to attach a first-round pick to them or take on an equally bad deal.

12:30
Any chance the Wizards trade or buy out Dwight Howard?  The man can still rebound in his sleep.  He could help someone.
Luke Adams
12:31
The Wizards are still talking like they plan to make the playoffs, so I think if they feel like he can get healthy and be productive down the stretch, they'll be happy to keep him. Buying him out would be tricky because of his 2019/20 player option.

Vucevic - hold him, or start the Mo Bamba era now?
