Am I a lock for a max this summer? My efficiency is great and my team is finally winning.
Luke Adams

I think so. The tricky question will be what happens if you make an All-NBA team and become super-max eligible, because I don't think the Bulls would feel comfortable with that sort of deal. They probably wouldn't mind if DeRozan keeps getting the majority of the MVP/All-NBA buzz and you miss out, since it would make contract negotiations much simpler.
Josh Giddey
12:41
Dude is a straight up Baller.  He is right up there with Evan Mobley and Scottie Barnes for me, in the ROY talk.  Does OKC need to trade away SGA for Giddey to reach his max?  He needs the ball in his hands, which is not happening when they are both on the court.  (Same goes for Haliburton playing next to Fox ).

That could be a conversation for down the road, but I don't think it needs to happen anytime soon. The Thunder had a great year with SGA, CP3, and Schroder all on the roster, so they've shown they can succeed using multiple ball-handlers. And if they decide in a year or two that it doesn't work, both SGA and Giddey are under contract for a while -- they'd still have a ton of trade value.

Who are realistic targets for the Cavs outside of the often mentioned Terrence Ross and Caris Levert?
Luke Adams
12:46
Honestly, my familiarity with the trade market is really lagging so far this year since we've spent the last few weeks dealing with protocol news and 10-day signings, so I don't have a good list of names on hand yet. But Ross and LeVert give you a sense of what they might be looking for -- a guy who can make threes and be a secondary ball-handler. Josh Hart would be another player worth kicking the tires on.

Are you surprised the Clips are staying afloat despite all thge player days they have lost?

How about them Bulls? I dont think anyone saw them being this good or at least not this good this quick
Luke Adams
12:48
Grouping these questions together because I have to cop to being very wrong about both the Clippers and the Bulls -- I didn't have either team in my top eight for the West/East entering the season. The Clippers have benefited from a weaker-than-usual Western Conference, but both teams have had much better depth than I anticipated.

Kings: Simmons
Pelicans: Fox + Picks
Sixers: Ingram

Maybe other pieces added but does the framework make any sense?
Luke Adams
12:49
It's not a terrible idea, though I don't know about the Fox/Zion fit. Not ideal to have your top two offensive options be players who need the ball in their hands and can't reliably hit 3-pointers.

Bojan Bogdanovic and picks for Jerami Grant, who says no? Pistons need shooting and we need an athletic wing defender.
Luke Adams
12:50
If the Pistons are trading Grant, it's because they're leaning into the youth movement, so I doubt Bogdanovic would appeal to them much. Maybe a three-team trade where another team gets Bojan and the Pistons get some picks and/or young guys?

Does Wall end up being bought out? Hard to see anybody making room for that contract.
Luke Adams
12:51
That remains the most likely outcome. It's just hard to imagine a scenario where the Rockets trade his contract without having to attach an asset to him. Buying him out makes more sense than giving up a draft pick to get off his contract a year early.

Does RJ’s concerning regression in a contract extension year make him more likely to be traded by the FO in the offseason for a star? I know he was viewed as nearly untouchable before, but Leon Rose didn’t draft RJ, so there’s no real loyalty component.
Luke Adams
12:54
I won't say it's impossible, but I doubt the Knicks are panicking about a 30-game sample this year. Barrett may not make 40% of his threes again, but it would only take a couple good games to bump his number to a pretty respectable rate.
12:55
Even if Barrett doesn't end up significantly improving before season's end, Leon Rose doesn't seem like the type to sell low. If anything, it might give the Knicks to lock in Barrett at a more team-friendly rate on his next contract.

What are the Rockets going to do with Porter Jr? I kow he was suspended for 1 game, but that doesn't seem like nearly enough for walking out of the arena in the middle of a game
Luke Adams
12:56
It seems like the one-game suspension is the extent of the penalty for now. I agree that it seems light, but the Rockets are probably viewing this as a "first" offense, since his previous bad behavior came before he arrived in Houston. If there's another incident, I imagine they'll come down on him harder.
Would Beal stay
12:57
I've seen countless things about Beal going to the Celtics in the offseason, how realistic is that given the Celtics' fit issues and the positive takeaways from this year's Wiz team? Could he resign do you think?
Luke Adams
12:58
Beal would be a good basketball fit in Boston, and he's good friends with Tatum. It's hard to envision it from a cap/asset perspective though. The Celtics won't have cap room and would probably need to shed money to even pull off a sign-and-trade. Then they'd need to offer an appealing enough package to get Washington to sign off. Beal re-signing with the Wizards is more likely.

What is the most interesting , yet possible, thing my Magic might do this trade deadline? Obviously Lopez/TRoss could go, but anything bigger to shake things up or acquire someone a year or two early like Sabonis/Simmons? Excite me, this team sucks.
Luke Adams

It's a boring answer, but the Magic are still so early in their rebuilding process that I have a really hard time seeing them give up assets for an All-Star caliber player anytime soon. Simmons makes some sense due to his longer contract and the fact that Orlando's front office loves versatile, defense-first players like him, but I don't think the Magic have the sort of pieces that would appeal to Philadelphia.
Thanks for all your questions today, everyone. There were many good ones I couldn't get to. I'll be back next Tuesday to chat some more!
