What would you expect from Lauri Markkanen this season?
Luke Adams
2:46
A very strong 50-55 games and a 20-game absence late in the season for a "hamstring strain" or something like that so that the Jazz can make sure they keep their top-10 protected pick.
(Half kidding.)

shouldn,t they trade Kuminga BEFORE he shows everyone he's NOT 'that guy' ?

I'm sure the Warriors would include him in a package for an impact player who's a clear upgrade (like the Knicks did last season when they traded Quickley as part of the Anunoby deal). But it also sounds like they still believe he can be "that guy," so it's not like they'll just be looking to cash out while his stock is high.

For what it's worth, it can also be tricky to get full value for a fourth-year player who's due for a big contract at the end of the season.

Speaking of a Randle trade, let's say the Olympics really did form a bond between Ant and KD. Does a Randle sign and trade this off-season with Phoenix work for MIN if Durant makes it clear he's not reupping with the Suns when the time comes? It'd take more pieces, but is the framework there if the two superstars want it?

Would be a challenge due to CBA rules, since those are two apron teams. Randle would probably have to opt in rather than being signed-and-traded, and you might need a third team to help out. Even if you could figure out the logistics, I dunno if the Suns would be on board -- I have to think they could do better for Durant than a return with Randle as the centerpiece.

2025 Finals pick?
Luke Adams
2:57
It's a boring choice, but I'm picking the Celtics. They were dominant last season, were fine in the playoffs without Porzingis, and brought back every important piece from last year's team.

The more interesting question is which team makes it out of the West. I'm leaning more and more toward the Thunder, but I kinda like the idea of an older star making one last run before the younger generation takes over. I'm not ruling out the possibility of an upstart veteran team like the Suns, Warriors, or Lakers.

Well, it'd be Randle and Reid or McDaniels or some other desirable pieces. Just wondering if two superstars players can set something like that up. Always hear how superteams come together when all the top guys are in the same place. KD and Ant would bring some spice!

Star players have leverage in those situations, but it only goes so far. Damian Lillard went to Milwaukee, not Miami. Donovan Mitchell went to Cleveland, not New York. If Durant wanted out of Phoenix, he could push for a certain destination, but the Suns wouldn't just have a one-team list.

Thanks for all the questions today, guys. Looking forward to these Thursday chats throughout the season!
