Could Detroit still make a big trade? Especially with all the injuries (Joe and Duren)

Neither of those injuries seems serious, so I imagine by the time the trade market really opens up, those guys will be back. Still, the Pistons are pretty well positioned to make a trade, with all of their future first-round picks available and some movable mid-sized contracts. If they're among the East's leaders again, I'd consider them more likely than last year to do something at the deadline.

Hornets look better than advertised. Where you you think they end up?

I'm wary of reading too much into their nice start, since I don't expect Brooklyn or Washington to be playoff teams and Miami has been a disaster so far. But there's no reason the Hornets shouldn't stay competitive. I had them outside of the top 10 coming into the season because there are so many good teams in the East, but they should still be in the play-in mix.

The Rockets are well positioned to make a midseason move…think there’s any obvious moves they could make though? Feel like the obvious one is Kyrie, but it seems like Ime loves FVV and Smart too much to move off either one there

I actually think Houston's roster is pretty well balanced, without any glaring holes, when everyone's healthy. They'll have 2-3 months to assess where the weak spots might be and see if they can keep everyone on the court before they pull the trigger on anything.

You may be right that the PG spot is the one to watch, but if they're playing well in Jan/Feb, I suspect they'll be reluctant to reshape the roster too significantly with a Kyrie-type acquisition -- unless VanVleet just really doesn't look like his old self at all.

The Nuggets are kind of a mess!

Does Denver trade the Joker by the trade deadline?  While every team needs him what teams can offer the best package and can still compete?

I can't see the Nuggets ever trading Jokic unless he asks out, and he doesn't seem like the type of personality who would force the issue, even if Denver's struggling.

But the Nuggets' shaky start has definitely made this a situation worth watching, especially given Jokic's criticism of the booing fans after the home opener. He can technically become a free agent in 2027, so if Denver continues to underachieve, things could get really interesting.

I can't even wrap my head around what a Jokic trade package would look like. Maybe a team like Utah or Charlotte would be best positioned to do it, since they have lots of young talent they could offer, along with an excess of draft picks. Maybe Atlanta? But it's too premature at this point to really get into it, in my opinion. Still more likely that Denver figures things out and Jokic signs a new contract with the Nuggets next summer.

Is trading all the Pistons picks realistic for Caleb Wilson or someone of that caliber considering he more than likely untouchable. Maybe Markkanen, if his injury isn't too serious? And he shouldn't cost all of our picks, but might require most to pry him away.

I don't see the Bulls parting with Wilson. Markkanen is a long shot too but could be more attainable, especially since the Jazz seem more concerned about winning the trade than contending in the short term.
Thanks to everyone who sent in questions today, and apologies if I didn't get to yours. We'll plan to do this at the same time next Wednesday. Have a great week!
