I remember last week when all the NBA talking heads were saying Lillard had limited trade value, well looks like he was appropriately valued after all! My question though is, who are some realistic trade targets for the Celtics to try and turn their current 6 man rotation into a 9 man playoff rotation? Pritchard and maybe Hauser/Brissett are options, but I think those guys become unplayable in the playoffs.

I thought Bullock would've been an obvious target for them. Maybe he wanted to stay in Texas. If OKC does make Kenrich Williams available as I suggested earlier, he'd be an ideal target for Boston (his salary narrowly fits into their TPE). But the idea that he's gettable is purely speculation on my part.

Of the remaining free agents who will get singed

Would be a bit surprised if Kendrick Nunn, Tereence Davis, Javonte Green, Hamidou Diallo, Terrence Ross, Nerlens Noel, and Bismack Biyombo are all still looking for work when the season gets underway. Those are my top candidates to sign somewhere. T.J. Warren, Blake Griffin also still seem like NBA players if they're healthy.

Fair enough, but when he talked later about that injury, he said it had been something he'd been dealing with for years. My point that smaller guards aren't the best fit for the international game stands.

Piston over or under 28 wins?
Luke Adams
1:46
At first glance I want to take the over (I think Cade will have a big year), but I'll need to take a closer look at everyone else's win projections. Someone's got to lose games this year, and I don't think many teams will be in tanking mode out of the gate.

With the Rockets having assets of 6+ very high ceiling under 22 players and very good vets in FVV and Brooks and filler. Along with ability to move 10+ first round picks/swaps etc. If a top 10 player wants out, who outbids them?
Luke Adams
1:49
A few other teams (OKC, Pelicans, Spurs, etc.) would be in a good position to match or top a Rockets offer, but you're right that Houston is pretty loaded with assets. Will be interesting to see how young guys like Jabari Smith develop. Players like that can lose their value pretty quickly if they're not constantly improving.

Do you think the rockets go for a starting center, I like Sengun but I only see him as a good backup not starter
Luke Adams

Seems like they pushed pretty hard to land Brook Lopez this summer and couldn't seal the deal. I assume they'll remain on the lookout for a rim protector along those lines while they continue to evaluate Sengun.

Do you think any team takes the Rockets up on their offer of Porter and multiple #2's for Porter to dump an unwanted contract(s)?
Luke Adams
1:51
No. The PR hit isn't worth it for just second-rounders (especially if you're giving up a decent player).

Why is Hami Diallo still unsigned? I think he'd be a great fit in Denver
Luke Adams
1:53
I put him in our top 50 free agents list back in June (he's the only player from that list still unsigned), so clearly I'm not the person to ask. He should be on a roster!

But I guess his skill set (including his lack of three-point shot) isn't necessarily a clean fit for a team looking to add a wing.

Will Luka get itchy feet if Dallas don’t look like an improvement this year, if so where do you think he’ll end up?
Luke Adams
1:55
It still feels like we're a year early for the potential Luka inflection point, but sometimes these things develop quickly. Certainly, there's a ton of pressure on Dallas to be better this season, and I think the front office will be prepared to go out and make another move if at the trade deadline to ensure the team is competitive and Luka is happy.

What do you think the worst move of the offseason was this year?
Luke Adams
1:59
I published this question before having an answer and now I'm having trouble thinking of anything that felt egregiously bad to me.

On a smaller scale, the way the Thunder and Spurs used their cap room was pretty underwhelming to me. OKC took on a lot of unwanted money for Victor Oladipo and Davis Bertans in order to get two distant second-rounders and move up two spots in this year's draft.

The Spurs took a similar approach and then just waived guys like Cameron Payne and Reggie Bullock, who I thought might have a little value on the trade market, especially during the season.

Would Cousins or Howard work as a free agent signing for the Celtics?
Luke Adams
2:00
Don't see Cousins as a fit. Howard, maybe, if he's willing to be a defense-first guy who plays 10-15 minutes per game. If I were the Celtics, I'd want to learn why the Warriors didn't end up signing him after bringing him in to visit and work out for a couple days.

@Luke Adams - My vote for worst move was the Pistons giving up 20M in cap space to take Joe Harris and 2 blah 2nd rounders.
Luke Adams

Another underwhelming use of cap room, though it seems like the Pistons at least intend to play Harris.
Thanks for all the questions today, guys! Enjoy the start of preseason schedule in the coming days, and we'll be back on Tuesday afternoon for our next live chat, hosted by Dana Gauruder.
