We all know Cooper Flag will be the number one pick so my question is two parts where do you think Flag would prefer to get drafted and where do you think the NBA hope he gets distracted? My guess is he would hope to get drafted by Charlotte because obviously he gets this stay where he's been playing college ball but NBA and marketing wise I would think that they would pray that San Antonio strikes magic again.  Flag AND Wemby!

I won't pretend to know what Flagg is thinking -- maybe he'd like to go to a team that's already pretty well positioned for future success and didn't expect to be in the lottery, like the Sixers, Pelicans, or Spurs. But I really have no idea.

As for which landing spot the NBA would like to see... I do think the league wants fans in all of its markets to have hope and have something and someone to cheer for, so I imagine the league would be perfectly fine with him joining one of the bottom-of-the-barrel teams like Washington, Utah, or Charlotte. But you're right that Wemby + Flagg would be very marketable. Having him be the franchise player in a big market like Brooklyn or Chicago wouldn't be a terrible outcome either.
