Clips 4ever
2:50
Clips could win a series in the playoffs if everything goes exactly right. But they are in no man's land for the future. No draft capital. No young stars under 30. The PG13 trade is awful in retrospect. But tbf, they likely win it all in 2021 with a healthy Kawhi. My question is if there is anything they can do to become a contender?

Harden turns 36 this year. Kawhi will be 34. If they're not capable of leading the Clippers to a deep run this season, I don't think that's going to change going forward.

Both of those guys are Los Angeles natives who want to be in L.A., but I'm curious if a big retool could be coming for the Clippers sooner than we think.

This question made me laugh since I'm not sure what it's asking. If the question is "how is he playing so well lately?" I'd say that he's always been a good defender. He's having a really nice run as a shooter now too, which is probably partly because Luka's gravity gets guys open shots and partly because it's a pretty small sample size.

If the question is about explaining his contract situation, we offered what I think is a pretty thorough primer earlier today: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2025/03/lakers-two-way-players-nearing-act...

If the Kings land the 10th seed in the play in, do they get to keep their 1st rd pick that would go to ATL?

The 14 lottery picks are based on which 14 teams missed the playoffs, regardless of their seed entering the play-in. So if the Kings don't make the playoffs, they'd need two other non-playoff teams to have better records than them in order to get to No. 12 and keep their pick, which is unlikely (and which wouldn't happen if they were the 10th seed, since they'll almost certainly have a better record than all the Eastern non-playoff teams).
Of course, there's always a very slim chance that they get really lucky on lottery night, but in all likelihood, if the Kings finish 10th in the West, they'll have the 13th pick, which will fall outside of the top-12 protection and go to Atlanta.

If you could buy any NBA team from a investment perspective, which team would be your choice? Celtics almost made their owner a nice 20x in 23 years. Not bad returns outside of bitcoin

I know the market isn't the biggest, but based on the latest valuations from Sportico, the Thunder look undervalued to me based on how well they're set up for the next 5-10 years. That feels like it'd be a good investment.

Three L's in a row and not really plaing that great during the 16 game streak. Are the Cavs in trouble for the playoffs?

This isn't their first three-game losing streak of the season and saying they weren't playing "that great" during a 16-game winning streak feels like concern-trolling. All teams have lulls during the season. If the Cavs' lull involves them going 16-3, I think they'll take that!

I'm not sure I'd pick them over the Celtics, but I'm not worried about their ability to compete in the playoffs.

Thanks again for the great questions today, guys. Just a heads-up that next Thursday's chat won't take place at 2 pm CT like usual -- I'm tentatively planning to do it at 12 pm CT.

Have a great week!
