Luke Adams
4:00
Hey guys, thanks for bearing with us through the time change today. Let's talk trades!
Blank name
4:01
Was the Kabengele trade more likely indicating a multi-player trade by the Clippers or just making room for the buyout market?
Luke Adams
4:02
I think it was just about clearing a roster spot and some financial flexibility for other opportunities that may pop up. I don't think they have anything big lined up.
Jordan
4:03
Are the Suns going to make a move? I get not wanting to mess with great chemistry, but I also know that they are in a great position to improve their rebounding in particular so Drummond seems like a fit.
Luke Adams
4:04
They're one of the few potential buyers that basically has no expiring contracts (all their players earning over $2MM are on multiyear deals). Those expiring deals are good filler and not having any will make it trickier for them to do anything big. I'd expect a pretty quiet deadline from the Suns.
Randy
4:05
Will The atlanta hawks make any moves at the trade deadline?
Luke Adams
4:06
I expect them to be active. Collins seems more likely than not to stay put, but the Hawks really want to make the playoffs and will be looking for potential upgrades in other areas. Wouldn't shock me if at least one of the young wings (Huerter, Reddish) or Bogdanovic gets dealt.
Norman Powell
4:06
What is my trade value? What should Raps expect for me in return?
Luke Adams
4:07
You have value, but not as much as your lofty offensive numbers might suggest, since your defensive effort is inconsistent and you're about to get paid. The Raptors would be doing well to get a promising young player or a mid-to-late first-round pick, but they probably shouldn't expect both.

Any chance the TWolves will be able to trade Ed Davis and recoup a 2nd round pick back???   Seems like he's not in the plans and it was a shame they traded a 2 to the Knicks when it looked like they were gonna cut him anyway last offseason.
Luke Adams
4:08
I think it'll be hard to get a real second-round pick for Davis at this point. I was surprised they gave up one for him in the first place. Don't think he has much value at this point.
Lucas

The most likely player to be traded by Thursday at 3 PM in your opinion is...
Luke Adams
4:09
Among the bigger names, it seems like it's either Victor Oladipo or Aaron Gordon.
Pat
4:09
The Magic should 100% blow it up right? Trade AG, Evan, Ross, Aminu, Bacon, Ennis etc
Luke Adams
4:10
Blowing it up at the trade deadline is tricky. But I could see them making a move or two now, then continuing that blow-up process during the offseason. Anyone besides Isaac, Fultz, Anthony, and possibly Vucevic seems very available.
Billy
4:11
don’t tel me this will be a quiet trade deadline. we’re less than 48 hours away and the only trade is Kabengele
Luke Adams
4:12
We also got PJ Tucker last week! But yeah, it's been fairly quiet for the last 2-3 days. Usually there are at least 10 or so deals made on the Thursday of the deadline, so it's too early to draw any conclusions about this year yet.
Raptors
4:12
Precious + Robinson and salary filler for Lowry. Who says no?
Luke Adams
4:13
If the Heat and Raptors make a deal for Lowry, I think it'll probably look something like that. Maybe one more small asset from the Heat. Would just come down to whether Lowy wants to be dealt and whether the Sixers want to try to top that offer.
Keith
4:13
If J.J. Redick is released, where does the Old Man and the Three end up?
Luke Adams
4:14
My money's on one of the New York teams. Whether it's the Nets or Knicks may depend on what they both do at the deadline.
Boston
4:14
Will the Celtics break tradition and not only bring in one body at the in-season deadline - but multiple?  Who on the roster would we be most surprised to see move?
RNDM DGAF
4:14
Gordon for Smart, Edwards& 2 firsts , then Fournier via trade exception? Is something like that Bostons plan?
Luke Adams
4:16
I've been conditioned over the years to be skeptical about big Celtics trade rumors like that Gordon/Fournier one, so I'll be very curious to see if Ainge actually pulls the trigger on a deal like that (or maybe one for Barnes or Collins). Even though Smart has been the most logical veteran trade piece for a while, it just felt like they wouldn't move him unless it was in a package for a star.
Larry Nance Sr.
4:16
Is my son getting traded before the deadline Thursday?  My son really likes playing for the Cavs
Luke Adams
4:17
I'd be surprised if the Cavs move him. There are a few players on that roster more likely to be dealt (Drummond, McGee, Prince, Osman, etc). I think if Nance does get traded, it'll be the sort of deal where we say "Wow, the Cavs got all that?"
Phil
4:18
Gut feeling on whether the Timberwolves are able to put together a trade for a PF? Our scoring outside of KAT and Ant is pretty awful right now, but I'd imagine Beasley is in the conversation for any trade for Gordon or Collins, which takes another shooter out of the rotation.
Luke Adams
4:19
I'm leaning toward it not happening this week. There's no real urgency for the Wolves to make that move now, given their spot in the standings, and there may be some new options available in the offseason (plus they'll know by then whether or not they still have their first-round pick). But yeah, if you're aiming for an impact guy like Gordon or Collins, it'd probably have to start with Beasley and a first.
Nik

Do you think the Pacers will make a trade? If yes, who is most likely to be traded?
Luke Adams
4:21
I was really caught off guard by the report today that they're listening to Malcolm Brogdon. I doubt anything happens on that front this week, but it suggests they're open to a lot of different ideas. I could see the Pacers making a move that involves someone like McDermott or Holiday, but I'd be surprised if we see anything big involving Turner, Brogdon, etc.
EMP 24
4:22
Is Gasol that bad of a fit, or is Vogel just not utilizing him properly?
Luke Adams
4:22
I think he's just getting old. He's 36! He's still a smart player, but the lack of mobility and agility is a problem.
Steven
4:23
why do nets keep signing guys to 10 days
Luke Adams
4:23
It's the cheapest way to get to the minimum roster requirements and maintain flexibility for now. They'll probably zero in on some rest-of-season guys either at the trade deadline or on the buyout market.
RJ
4:23
Agree with me that Knicks aren’t trading for a superstar. My uncle insists they are, but knicks just don’t have the assets to make one
Luke Adams
4:24
They miiight have the assets, but there's not really a superstar available right now. Maybe a little further down the road.
Randy
4:24
Will the utah jazz be active in the trade deadline or buyout market or stand pat
Luke Adams
4:26
If the Jazz do anything, I expect it to be on the smaller side. Like the Sixers acquiring Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III at last year's deadline, or the Magic getting James Ennis. Sending out a second-round pick for a veteran who can provide some reliable depth makes sense for Utah.
Julian Lemus
4:26
Can we see Lowry go to the clippers
Luke Adams
4:26
I don't see it. They don't have the contracts to logically make it work.
