What do you think it takes for the Sixers to get George Hill?  Future first or more?
Luke Adams
4:28
I expect the Thunder will ask for one of Maxey, Thybulle, or a first-round pick, plus salary filler. It shouldn't take more than one of those three.

Will the Nets acquire a big at the deadline, buyout or otherwise? Any feel on a Dinwiddie trade and for whom?
Luke Adams
4:30
It's hard to get a read on Dinwiddie's value, since it's so rare for a guy who's out for the season to be a desired asset on the trade market. It seems like Dinwiddie + a second-round pick might be enough to get a decent rotation player. There may be a deal to be made with the Pistons for Mason Plumlee, but Detroit would have to be pretty confident Dinwiddie would stick around.
A deal with the Heat for Maurice Harkless and Avery Bradley also makes some sense, as was rumored today.

How many deals do the Kings make before the deadline?
Luke Adams
4:32
At least one (Bjelica). I'm a little skeptical that they're as attached to Barnes as they're signaling right now, so let's say two.

The Bulls are one of the toughest teams to peg in terms of what they should/will do. They seem to be dedicated to trying to make the playoffs, but overall they're at least a year or two away from really contending for the top of the east.  Their young core might not actually be that good and definitely fit awkwardly. What do you think they'll do at the deadline, and what would you do?
Luke Adams
4:35
They definitely shouldn't give up any assets to make short-term upgrades, but I can't fault them for hanging onto vets like Young and Temple and trying to make the playoffs. We have a tendency to want teams to choose one extreme or the other (ie. if they're not pushing for a championship, they should be selling off any expendable assets), but I don't mind temporarily taking the middle ground in situations like this, where you're trying to get the young guys some playoff experience.
I'll also say that they shouldn't feel compelled to do anything with Markkanen -- we've seen an uptick in sign-and-trades involving RFAs over the last couple years. I think they could get an asset for him in the offseason if there's another team that really wants him.

Do you plan to continue these chats after the trade deadline? I've always enjoyed them when offered.
Luke Adams
4:37
That's TBD -- the traffic tends to spike in the weeks leading up to the trade deadline and the offseason, so I expect we'll at least do them around the draft and free agency, but I'm not sure yet whether we'll have a gap before then.

Is there anything to Pelicans trading or buying out Bledsoe? Or is he unlikely to moved?
Luke Adams
4:37
A report today said there was no traction on that front, which isn't surprising -- his contract makes him a negative asset for the time being. A buyout is unlikely too, since he has another guaranteed year left. The Pelicans could revisit that in the offseason.

Are we moving Tristan Thompson?
Luke Adams
4:39
I don't see the Celtics moving Thompson unless it's in a deal where they're taking back a bunch of multiyear salary and need to try to reduce next year's tax bill. Even then, it might be easier to find a taker in the offseason when he's expiring.

Could the Raps blow it up with a Siakam trade. How low would they be selling him and who would be interested?
Luke Adams
4:39
That seems like an overreaction to Sunday's incident! I doubt the Raptors are considering anything like that at this point.

Oladipo seems like the most logical to move. Any news?
Luke Adams
4:41
We had a couple items on him earlier today, including this one: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2021/03/rockets-likely-to-trade-oladipo-be... -- It sounds like capped-out teams are more willing to get close to the Rockets' asking price. I've always thought the Hawks made a lot of sense.

Who would be a good target for the Bucks on the buy-out market?
Luke Adams
4:42
Zach Lowe mentioned Austin Rivers earlier this week, which seems like a good fit. Not sure there will be too many other veteran ball-handling guards available. And it looks like that's probably their top priority after trading Augustin.

Any truth to the rumors bulls are looking to trade for Westbrook?  I read white and Carter and a first for Westbrook. Or was that nonsense
Luke Adams
4:43
It sounds like nonsense.

I’d like to see golden state land Aaron Gordon. Does that seem like a possibility? Wiggins, Paschall, and a pick or two. The idea of Steph, Klay, Dray, AG, and  Wiseman feels like a borderline contender.
Luke Adams
4:44
It'd have to be for Oubre instead of Wiggins. Even so, I think the Warriors would probably be outbid unless they're willing to put a pretty nice trade asset on the table (the Wolves' pick or maybe their own 2021 first-rounder). It's an interesting idea though.
4:45
Since I've had some questions about Oubre as well, I'll say that if the Warriors do move him, I think that's the sort of deal they'd want -- one where they can turn him into a player who could be on the team beyond this season.

4:46
What are you hearing about J Collins to the Celtics?  Smart involved in the trade??
Luke Adams
4:47
The latest report on the Celtics and Collins suggested it was unlikely since Boston is worried about his price in restricted free agency. Someone more cost-controlled in the $15-20MM range like Gordon or Barnes probably makes more sense.

Why aren’t more teams interested in cedi? He can shoot, score, and do some play making, right? Seems a good fit on contenders.
Luke Adams
4:48
A year ago, he'd be a really intriguing trade candidate. He hasn't been great this season (his shooting percentages are by far the worst of his career), so the Cavs might be selling a little low if they move him now. He'd definitely be a worthwhile risk for a playoff team though.
Thaddeus
4:49
What are the chances that Drummond and the Cavs don’t agree on a buyout? I see a trade as unlikely due to his contract and his style of play as undesired in today’s game. In that case, he’s done for the year, correct?
Luke Adams
4:50
I think a trade is unlikely too. But I'd be surprised if no buyout comes. You don't sit a guy weeks before the trade deadline if you think there's still a chance he'll spend the rest of the season with you.

What's up with Dallas?  Drummond?  Fournier?  Gordon?  Are they giving up Kleiber, Cauley Stein, Powell?  Dallas is surging, but they have to know they'll fall short without another piece.
Luke Adams
4:51
It's too bad Powell is still owed so much multiyear money -- if he were expiring, a Johnson/Powell/second-rounder package for Drummond would be ideal.
4:52
The Mavs project to have a chunk of cap room this summer, so I think they'll be patient and wait to make a bigger splash if the right deal isn't out there now.
Aaron
4:52
Are the Blazers a player in the Aaron Gordon talk or do you think they will have to hope for a buyout? Seems like the blazers arent willing to blow up there young core to go get an athletic forward such as gordon who can also score the ball.
Luke Adams
4:54
I think the Blazers could get build a pretty enticing package if they wanted to and I think they'd actually be a pretty good fit for Gordon. Just a matter of whether they're ready to start dealing their younger guys (Trent, Collins, Simons, Little, etc.) -- and whether they think Gordon is the guy worth doing it for.
Matt
4:54
Wolves fan, very interested in acquiring Gordon but unsure if we can put the best package together (Rubio + Culver + picks?). Does that entice the Magic, and if not, is there a PF upgrade on the market aside from Gordon or Collins that's obtainable?
Luke Adams
4:55
I'm not sure Culver has much value at this point. The Magic would probably want one of the cheaper, more productive young guys (McDaniels, Nowell, Reid, etc). Maybe there's something there, but it depends how highly Orlando values Rubio.
