I have my doubts about whether a package using Wiseman as the headliner will be enough for an impact player at this point. He had an up-and-down rookie season and missed his entire sophomore year. There's still plenty of time for him to prove his worth, but his value isn't at a high right now -- any team talking to the Warriors about a major trade will probably push for Moody or Kuminga instead. If the Warriors insist on keeping those guys, they'll have to temper their expectations on the sort of player they could trade for.

I'm one of the few to suggest that Raptors roll it back with the same crew and maybe try to sway another rotation piece into the mix with mid-level. What says you?

That makes sense to me. They could use a more reliable option at center, but that doesn't mean they have to go out and try to trade for a star at that position -- when the young guys like Barnes and Achiuwa have another year of development under their belts, Toronto may be more ready to take a big swing and legitimately contend (like they did a few years ago when they traded for Kawhi).

Any lavine sign and trade ideas?
Luke Adams

Honestly, I haven't even seriously considered that possibility. The lack of chatter surrounding LaVine this offseason has me convinced he'll just re-sign with the Bulls. We'll see if any new rumors start circulating once Chicago's season ends, but I'd consider LaVine very likely to stay put.

If you were the Knicks PBO, what direction would you take with the team this off-season?

I'd see if Barrett is willing to accept an extension worth less than the max and, if so, try to get it done (if not, it makes more sense to wait). I'd also want to gauge the trade market for Randle to see if there's a deal worth taking. His value isn't high right now, but I'm of the mind that 2020/21 was a career year and he's unlikely to recapture that form. I'd also want to stay in close contact with Jalen Brunson's and Tyus Jones' agents this summer.

OKC shut down over 10 players over the last 2 months of the season, but Vit Krejci played in the final 26 games of the season, including playing over 40 minutes in the each of the last 2 games of the season (including a game OKC lost by 50 points on April 10th). He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on April 12th. Any thoughts?

Interesting observation! Presumably, if Krejci was dealing with a significant injury or risking making it worse, OKC would've happily shut him down and been willing to sign one more hardship player. I have no inside info, but maybe he insisted on finishing the season since he knew it was an opportunity to showcase his talent with so many regulars out?

I'd Dyson Daniels a top ten or a lottery pick?
Luke Adams

I'd lean toward him falling just outside of the lottery, but all it takes is one team...

What are your thoughts about Aleksej Pokusevski and Josh Giddey playing in the Salt Lake City Summer League? Pokusevski did not play in the summer league in 2021 and Josh Giddey injured himself 5 minutes in last summer.
Luke Adams

I don't mind it for them -- Pokusevski didn't take a big step forward in his second year and Giddey's season ended early due to an injury. It could be a confidence-builder for both guys before training camp starts.

If the Knicks acquired Jalen Brunson , would they be a playoff team next season?
Luke Adams

If the rest of the roster was unchanged? Sure, I think that'd be doable. Maybe not top six, but play-in for sure. They weren't actually as far removed from the playoff teams as it felt this season -- they finished with a better net rating than the Bulls!
Thanks for all the questions, guys. We'll be back on Thursday with Dana Gauruder's weekly chat. Enjoy tonight's playoff games!
