Still, the idea of pairing Evan Mobley with Karl-Anthony Towns is pretty appealing.

Have any thoughts on how you’d rank Suggs, Mobley, Green and Kuminga in the draft right now? Assuming Cade is #1?
Luke Adams

It feels like Cade is the clear No. 1 at this point and Kuminga is sort of the consensus No. 5. I've gone back and forth on how I'd rank the other three. In a vacuum, I might take Evan Mobley at No. 2, then Jalen Green at No. 3 (Suggs at 4). But they're all close enough that, in this case, positional fit shouldn't be dismissed as a deciding factor.

Why haven’t the Warriors signed a Big Man yet?  Wiseman’s out, JTA has a Concussion and Looney is playing heavy Minutes on surgically-repaired hops.  He’s the only healthy player taller than 6-7 on the roster right now.  I see Thon Maker, Tyler Zeller, Justin Patton, and Omari Spellman are available.  We need SIZE and someone to dish out 6 enforcer Fouls.

I don't know if it's a matter of preferring to play smaller or just not believing that a free agent could come off the street (without any real practice time) and be a positive contributor, but the Warriors seem pretty averse to bolstering their center depth. The options you listed are pretty uninspiring, so maybe that's a factor too.
Still, there are guys out there with some experience in their system who have played good minutes this year, like Damian Jones (on a 10-day deal with the Kings now, but he's been available). I'm surprised they haven't given one of them a shot on a 10-day.

Is it that time for the trail Blazers to start thinking about trading Cj McCollum since they are not closing to winning a championship with them still building around Damian Lillard.

I think we discussed this in the chat a week or two ago, but yeah, it's probably past time, especially if the Blazers get knocked out in the first round of this year's playoffs. The problem is that McCollum's deal isn't all that team-friendly ($100MM for three years from ages 30-32). I don't know that he's super-valuable right now on that contract.

Is Chet Holmgren another Darko Milicic? because they were both similar before the NBA?
Luke Adams
12:54
I'm not gonna write off any kid as "the next Darko" when he's still over a year away from being drafted. Let's see how Holmgren looks at Gonzaga next season. He does need to put on a little weight, but otherwise I have no reason yet to believe he'll be a bust.

Is it reasonable to see Garland as a more useful piece (and more likely starter long term) than Sexton?
Luke Adams
12:55
That seems fair to me. I like Garland's style of play a little more than Sexton's and his ceiling as a two-way player is probably higher.

What do you think of Okeke’s year? He had that one week where he looked like he had found something but he’s faded back from that.

Given that he's coming off a major knee injury, hadn't played in the NBA before this year, and had to undergo a pretty ugly Magic season, I'd say there have been more positives than negatives. He's probably not a future All-Star or anything, but as long as he keeps improving and doesn't plateau next year, he looks like he's on track to being a solid pro.
Small Ball doesn’t work

I don’t understand the League’s recent disregard for playing 7 Footers.  The Rockets didn’t advance very far after trading away Clint Capela.  Big men are still needed to detour easy layups, block shots and rebound.  If your 7 Footer is hanging out by the 3-point line, it limits your chances at getting an offensive rebound.  Pretty much one shot and out.

Those players are certainly still valuable in the right matchups and in the right defensive schemes, especially if they're versatile enough to challenge players on the perimeter. If you're facing a lineup of five players who can all hit three-pointers, you can't just leave your center at the rim, which is a problem for some players and teams.
Thanks for all the questions this week, guys! That's all we have time for, but let's do it again next Tuesday.
