To succeed with Young, you have to build a very specific type of team around him that lets him dominate the ball. The Hawks played pretty well when he was injured, so I think they're better off trying to find someone on the trade market that's willing to overpay, and then using those assets to build a 1-to-15 type of roster.

If you were starting a team from scratch and could draft anyone in the NBA you wanted to start your team with, who would you take #1?

If we're talking about winning the title next year, it's still Jokic because of all the things he can do to boost an offense. If you're looking to the future, it's obviously Wembanyama.
Coach B

I know it's super early but which coach is coming into the 2025 season on the hot seat.  I would think billy donovan would be on top of the list

Donovan is a good choice. The Bulls are probably going to re-sign DeRozan, keep Vucevic and trade LaVine for a limited return. They're not going to be any better than a .500 team.

When will PG decide? The Clips need to know, and so do a few other teams.

He's got a June 29 deadline to pick up his player option, so it depends what the Clippers are willing to offer by then. We'll know a lot more in 11 days.

Would Garland be an interesting fit for the Spurs? Fills their need at PG, good at feeding a center, and Wembanyama's presence could really cover his defensive limitations.

Garland would be a dream addition for the Spurs, but the latest rumors out of Cleveland are that the Cavaliers want to keep their core intact. If San Antonio ever gets a chance to trade for Garland, they should act quickly.

Who wins next year’s title, the Celtics or the field?
ARTHUR HILL

The Celtics will likely go into next season as title favorites, but unpredictable things happen in the NBA all the time. The Porzingis injury could already be the first sign of trouble. Always take the field.
Thanks for another week of great questions. We'll chat again next Tuesday.
