Any pick could be sold, and first-rounders have been bought in the past. It doesn't really happen anymore since every team values first-rounders pretty highly and no owners are that cheap anymore.

What do you think the odds are that Tobias Harris gets traded?
Luke Adams
12:31
Maybe 20%? I think the Sixers would like to do it if they could get an upgrade at his salary spot, but I don't see how that'll happen.

Think Masai moves me for the #4 pick?
Luke Adams
12:33
The Kings would want more, but it's an intriguing idea if more pieces were added (Richaun Holmes, future Raptors draft picks, etc.) and if there's a player at No. 4 that the Raptors like as much as they liked Barnes last year.

Why wouldnt the Magic front office pick Paolo first, if thats who Hou/ really wants and pick up other assets w/ 3rd pick and still get Jabari /Chet? Dont see a downside, to this move for Orlando.

I haven't gotten the sense that it's Paolo-or-bust for the Rockets. It seems more like they'd be happy with any of the top three and expect he's the one that'll be available. I think they'd happily draft Smith or Holmgren rather than give up assets to move up for Banchero.
Nets / Lakers drama
12:35
Can we go ONE DAY without Laker or Nets talk / drama ?  They got more Coverage than the Celtics and Warriors during the Finals.  Its just wrong.  Wish media would give us a break.  There are 28 other teams to cover.

It just makes for such a fun story when big-market, big-money, big-star teams struggle though!

Do you anticipate Victor Oladipo resigning with the Heat and what amount do you think gets it done? $$$
Luke Adams
12:37
A deal like the one PJ Tucker got last year (two years around $7-8MM annually with a second-year player option) seems fair to me, but Oladipo's market is hard to read. I wouldn't be surprised if a team offers him the full MLE (or more), but I also wouldn't be totally shocked if he has to settle for something close to the minimum again.
The Heat are the favorites to re-sign Oladipo, I think, since they hold his Bird rights, but I wouldn't bet the house on that.

The Bulls are often rumored Gobert suitors, but the noise seems like a classic distraction/diversion for a front office that moves quietly and quickly.  Do you think the Bulls end up making the pick at 18, and if they have a trade up their sleeve, who else could you see them targeting? Ayton, Collins, Grant, someone else?
Luke Adams
12:40
Yeah, the more I look at a potential Jazz/Bulls Gobert trade, the more I'm skeptical that either team would be willing to meet the other's asking price. It wouldn't surprise me if the Bulls don't make a huge move this summer -- Karnisovas seems to genuinely believe continuity will benefit this year's group, and injuries really killed them. Might make sense to wait until the trade deadline or next summer to shake things up too much more.

The Mavs are targeting a 3-D wing with their taxpayer MLE.. what names do you think they could realistically sign to that deal? Also if they're still in the market for a cheap, defensive-minded big, who would be a good target for them in that regard??
Luke Adams
12:43
They should be in on Batum and PJ Tucker. Maybe Bruce Brown, Kyle Anderson, Pat Connaughton, Gary Harris. There should be some solid big men available for the minimum or close to it. Drummond, JaVale, Robin Lopez, Damian Jones, Tristan Thompson. Thomas Bryant would also be an intriguing bounce-back candidate now that he's further removed from his ACL tear.

Thoughts if Hornets hire Mike D'Antoni as their coach? I thought the reason Borrego got dumped was because the team can't play defense ... and errrrr ... that's not exactly his calling card.
Luke Adams
12:45
I'm not going to argue that D'Antoni is or was ever a defensive guru, but I do think the defensive shortcomings of his teams were probably overstated because of the pace they tended to play at. The Hornets could do worse, though I'd rather see them take a shot on someone younger like the Lakers did with Darvin Ham.
12:46
Thanks for all the questions today, guys. Once again, we'll be hosting a draft-night chat on Thursday with Alex Kirschenbaum that'll be sort of a live discussion about the draft (and the night's trades) rather than a pure Q&A session. It should be fun and hopefully we see you there!
