Thanks for all the early questions, guys! Let's dive in...

With the news re: Jaylen Brown and the Celtics offer seeming to be weeks old, who do you think leaked it to the press now? Has to be Brooklyn right? It seems Woj is getting most of his info from the Brooklyn side.
Luke Adams
12:17
It's either coming from the Nets or Durant's camp. The Celtics have no desire to put it out there that they're offering Jaylen Brown, since it'll risk making things awkward if he ends up staying put. The Nets and Durant are more motivated to try to drive action.

Greetings everybody. Has Tyler Dorsey upgraded his situation by signing a two way? I am asking this, because being a starter in an top european team looks more attractive to me than fighting for a roster spot on the Mavs in the g-league..
Luke Adams
12:19
One interesting detail reported around the time Dorsey signed was that he wanted to secure an NBA pension, which players get if they have three years of service (this will be Dorsey's third year). That may not have been his primary motive, but it shouldn't be overlooked. If he exceeds expectations, maybe he plays himself onto a standard contract with Dallas or another team. If not, he'll still have plenty of opportunities waiting in Europe.

The Wizards have been widely discussed as serious draft trade up and trade down scenarios. They have been associated with almost every possible free agent and trade point guard. They are widely mentioned as a possible team to trade for Durant and now Mitchell and previously John Collins. Do you think agents or other teams are using the Wizards to try and create more pressure for a deal or do you think there is some real possibility that the Wizards could make some deal of this level still this offseason?
Luke Adams
12:21
I get the sense that Tommy Sheppard is calling about everything and everyone, but teams might not value the Wizards' assets as much as he does. So, yeah, they could make a big trade, but unless they're willing to significantly overpay, there will probably be another team with a more desirable package.

Why isn't Ryan Rollins signed?
Luke Adams
12:23
This is just my speculation, but they may be waiting to make sure there are no setbacks in the early stages of his recovery from his foot injury. If there's any risk that it doesn't heal as planned and he won't be able to play much as a rookie, it might affect the kind of contract the Warriors try to sign him to. As long as his recovery continues on the right path, he'll likely get a three-year deal at some point.

How likely is it that I'll still be on the Jazz at the start of the regular season? If so, will I hold out?
Luke Adams
12:25
Danny Ainge won't trade you unless he gets a deal he likes, and the Gobert return set the bar high, so I think a preseason trade is far from a given. Maybe no better than 50/50. If a deal doesn't materialize, I don't expect you to hold out -- there haven't been any real indications that you're pushing to leave Utah.

Hi Luke  love the trade breakdown series is the plan to continue it over the ne t couple of seasons.
Luke Adams
12:26
That'll be Rory's call, but I'm hoping we continue it. In-season deals are often more fun to analyze than the offseason ones.

How do y’all feel about Sacramento’s roster? A play in seems likely but is there a chance they can be legitimately competitive this year?
Luke Adams
12:29
I'm not sure the defense is at the level it needs to be for them to get anywhere close to legitimate contention, though I thought the same thing about the Bulls last offseason and they spent most of the season as a top-three seed before falling off due to injuries. I suspect the Kings' ceiling this year is about where Chicago ended up last year -- a lower-end playoff berth and a quick first-round exit.
Chris
12:29
What's up with the Kemba Walker situation in Detroit? Been quiet in motown lately. Anything else going down there?
Luke Adams
12:31
Until he lines up a deal with another team, there's no rush to officially finalize a buyout (or for him to give money back). I still expect it to happen at some point, but the Pistons don't seem to be in any hurry to finish their offseason business -- they still haven't officially signed Kevin Knox either.

What would it take for the Bulls to get Durant? DeRozan, White, Williams, Vucevic,
Luke Adams
12:32
Don't think the Bulls have the players or the picks to make a legitimate offer for KD.

Can the Magic win 35 games with their current roster or even sneak into playoff tournament?
Luke Adams
12:34
It's hard to know what the Magic really have, since we haven't seen them fully healthy for so long. I loved Jonathan Isaac's potential, especially on defense, before he got hurt, but I have no idea what to expect to him after two full seasons off. I'd take the under on 35 wins and I suspect they're at least a year away from making any real noise, but there are a lot of guys with intriguing upside on that roster.

Is it the end of the line for Rajon Rondo  Blake Griffin and Paul Millsap?
Luke Adams
12:35
I'd be shocked if we don't see all three of them on a roster at some point this season. But it may not happen by opening night.

Why isn’t Dennis Schröder on the bulls? Seems like he would be a pretty decent upgrade over dragic and he played one of his better seasons the okc playoff year under Billy Donovan, the bulls ownership is holding the team back?
Luke Adams
12:37
I imagine if Schröder were willing to accept a minimum-salary contract, the Bulls would probably be signing him instead of Dragic. I'm not in the habit of defending the Bulls' (or any team's) owners for being frugal, but I don't know that Schröder is the piece you go into the tax for.
Damian Lillard
12:37
Are we going to make any more moves? Seems like we're OK right now, but definitely not a championship team.
Luke Adams
12:38
Your offseason looks pretty complete to me, with the possible exception of a two-way signing. If things don't go well in the first half, maybe another shake-up happens at the 2023 trade deadline.
Derrick

Do you still see the Lakers trading Russell Westbrook and if so who do you see trading for him?
Luke Adams
12:41
The rumored Hield/Turner package from the Pacers in exchange for Westbrook/picks makes a lot of sense to me. There also could be a deal to make with the Jazz for some combination of Conley/Bogdanovic/Beasley/Clarkson/Beverley. It seems like the Lakers are waiting to see whether they'll be able to acquire Kyrie -- if nothing materializes there, maybe they pivot to a deal with a team like Indiana or Utah.

12:41
if you had to choose, are you trading Rui, or Kuzma?
Luke Adams
12:43
It depends how they're valued by other teams. I think I'm higher than the consensus on Hachimura and less bullish on Kuzma, so I'd probably lean toward moving Kuzma. I wouldn't be super-attached to either one though if they're the missing piece in a package for an impact player.

Do you see a Reunion between Hassan Whiteside and Utah?  After trading away Gobert, they really only have unproven younger Centers on the roster ( Azubuike, Kessler, Cockburn ).
Luke Adams
12:44
Whiteside might rather play for a team closer to contention and Utah might want a veteran mentor without Whiteside's history of character questions, but if neither side can find a better alternative, a reunion makes sense.

12:44
Is Philly done or do you see a small consolidation move out there for like Korkmaz and Joe (~$6.7M combined)?
Luke Adams
12:45
The fact that they agreed to terms with Harden signals that they're probably done for the time being, but I expect Morey to revisit the trade market during training camp and the preseason. A deal like the one you mentioned would give them some added financial flexibility this season.

12:46
Will my trade to Oklahoma City be apart of the trade breakdown series?
Luke Adams
12:46
Rory has been focusing on the major trades rather than the smaller ones -- your deal was considered borderline, so it was folded into his analysis of the Wizards/Nuggets trade: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2022/07/trade-breakdown-nuggets-wizards-sw...

Being labeled the worst champion is like having the worst GPA in a graduating class of MD's, but who would you say had the least amount of talent out of the past 10 championship seasons?
Luke Adams
12:48
I know they had LeBron and AD healthy and playing some of their best basketball, but I'm still a little surprised the Lakers made their 2020 run with that supporting cast. Wouldn't have guessed that Kentavious Caldwell-Pope would be the third-best player on a title team.
Curious to hear what the room thinks about this though -- I'm sure others will have different answers.
