who do y’all think will win rookie of the year? My bet is Jabari Smith but I think any of the top 5 have a good chance

Last year's Scottie Barnes win was a sign that voters are becoming less inclined to vote for high-usage guys on bad teams over two-way contributors on good teams. That could bode well for Keegan Murray if the Kings take a step forward. Trying not to get sucked into the hype based on his strong Summer League, but he looks ready to play a key role right away.

Wolves have some very impressive pieces but in the course of a full season can they gel enough and learn to play together to make some real noise? Also, ANT is the alpha dog there, correct?

I think the Wolves will be a really good regular season team this year, with Edwards taking another step forward and becoming a legitimate All-Star caliber player. I'm just not sure what to expect in the postseason. We haven't seen a look like Towns + Gobert in the playoffs much in the last decade or so. It feels like it has big boom-or-bust potential.

Luke: Good Afternoon. Think the Heat pivot and offer the Hawks Duncan Robinson and a 1 for John Collins?

Does Miami make any moves to get a different option at PF? They seem like a long shot for KD or Mitchell, so they probably  need a better option at the 4

A few questions today about Miami's plans, particularly at power forward. I don't love their chances of landing Durant, and I don't know if I'd feel comfortable using a bunch of their best assets for Mitchell. I like the idea of going after a John Collins type who wouldn't be quite so expensive, but I suspect the Hawks would ask for more than just Robinson and a 1st.

Hornets make Play in tournament?🏀

I viewed the Hornets as a good candidate to take a step forward next season if they were able to add a solid starting center this summer, but they haven't done that (I like Mark Williams, but he won't be a major difference-maker as a rookie), and it seems like they've taken a step back with Miles Bridges' future up in the air. If LaMelo Ball makes a leap, they'll still be in the play-in mix, but it won't shock me if they finish outside the East's top 10.

Will the Mavs be able to add a veteran player with ball handling and play making experience? Possibly Kemba Walker or Eric Bledsoe or former Mav Dennis Smith Jr. Thanks

"Be able to"? Sure, they have an open roster spot, and I don't expect any of those guys to get more than the minimum. It's a question of what Dallas' priorities are.

Any chance the Celtics actually trade Brown for Durant or do you think this is the Nets trying to drive up the asking price ?

Yesterday's Shams report said the Celtics offered Brown, and there have been no denials out of Boston since then, so I think it's safe to assume the C's would move Brown if they didn't have to add many other assets to him. It's just a matter of whether the two teams can agree to what the rest of the package would look like.
Thanks for the questions today, guys. Our next live chat will be on Thursday with Dana Gauruder! Have a great week.
