They've got 15 players on guaranteed contracts and I believe they're ever so slightly under the tax line. Their work is probably done for now, though they do still have a two-way slot available, and they'll likely be open to in-season trades if they don't get off to a great start.

Think there’s a chance the Rockets could position themselves as a 3rd team in a KD deal to try and add someone like Bridges/MPJ/someone in exchange for giving Brooklyn some of their picks back?
Luke Adams

Never say never, but I suspect the Rockets are still too early in the rebuilding process to cash in a bunch of draft assets for a win-now player (even if that player is a young veteran, like Bridges or MPJ). Maybe in another year or two.

Will Devontae Cacok be back with the San Antonio Spurs or the Austin Spurs in 2022-2023? Or do you think he might sign an overseas contract instead?
Luke Adams

The Spurs are carrying 15 players on standard contracts and two on two-way deals and still have Joe Wieskamp's restricted free agency to resolve. I don't see any room in that mix for Cacok -- the Spurs would probably be happy to save him a spot on their G League team, but if he wants a more lucrative deal, he'll likely have to look overseas.

Send in the Clones.  Is it me, or does it not seem like the Raptors have like 6 players that seem to have similar skillsets, especially in their Frontcourt?  How about more diverstity among those players' skillsets??

Well, a lot of those traits they share are ones you need to succeed in today's NBA -- most teams would kill to have that many long, athletic, versatile defenders. But I hear you. The question is whether there's enough shot creation and outside shooting. Otto Porter should help with the latter, at least, but we'll see if they have enough of the former. Scottie Barnes' continued ascension will be crucial.

Is Lillard the next star to ask out? He signed his extension and is mostly saying the right things about winning with the Blazers, but he’s 32 and is on a team that is maybe a second round exit if he plays back to his all NBA level.
Luke Adams

He'd had plenty of opportunities to seek an exit ramp if he wanted one. I suppose since Durant requested a trade less than a year after signing an extension, we can't rule anything out, but I expect Lillard to give it at least another year or two in Portland to make things work.
12:57
(In other words, even if he requests a trade eventually, I wouldn't bet on him being the next star to do so.)
Josh Jackson
12:57
Hard to believe teams are not Interested in signing Jackson?  Yes, he is not a 3-Point shooter, but he can slash to the hoop with the best of them and brings serviceable Wing defense.

The shooting numbers were so bad last season that he'd need to provide more than "serviceable" defense to be assured of a roster spot. He deserves a shot to compete in a team's training camp, but he'll have to show more on offense.
Thanks for all your questions today, everyone! Our next live chat will take place on Saturday at noon CT with Dana Gauruder. Have a great week.
