White's Bird rights would go with him in a trade, and that definitely has value, especially if there's an understanding between the player and the team acquiring him that he'll get the kind of contract he wants in free agency (Pacers and Pascal Siakam is one recent example of this, off the top of my head).

It's not accurate though to say that White's Bird rights would mean a team can go over the tax threshold with no penalty. It simply means the team can go over the CAP to re-sign him, without requiring cap room or another exception. If they go into tax territory, the usual penalties apply.

Kings still seem like your best bet. I'd be surprised if you're not on an NBA roster when the season starts. You had some pretty good moments last year in Denver.

Is there any urgency for the Bucks to trade Giannis, IF he asks out this year?  Also, given the east injuries, isn't he better off staying in the east with the bucks?   IMO, he seems to have embrace the city and org with a preference to stay

In regard to the first question... There wouldn't necessarily be any immediate urgency, since he's under contract through at least 2027. And I don't think Giannis is the type to go full Jimmy Butler. But it would be a risk for the Bucks to let that situation play out with an unhappy star, especially if they don't look like a real contender this year (which I assume is why Giannis would ask out).

Having said that, you're right that Giannis has embraced Milwaukee and it doesn't seem like any trade request is imminent. I'm hoping for a bounce-back season from the Bucks this year -- their future would look sorta bleak if they had to trade their MVP after doing the waive-and-stretch move with Dame.

Thought for a second this was a rare Thaddeus Young question, but seems safe to assume it's about Trae Young.

I'd still bet on the Hawks. I have high hopes for them this season, and if they're playing well, there's no reason why either the team or Young himself would be looking to end the relationship.

Thanks for all the questions this week, guys! I'll likely be taking next Thursday off, but we'll be resuming weekly Thursday chats the first week of September, leading up to training camp at the end of next month.
Have a great week!
