It seems like expansion is on hold because the owners could get the reported 500M-1B expansion fees per team in NBA EU, so they wouldnt want to split those 32 ways, especially since it may be more total money than the expansion fees for the two teams.

Yep, NBA Europe would be an immediate influx of cash without having to share the NBA's TV deals and other revenue streams equally with those new EU franchises. That's certainly a big part of it.

I'm curious to see what the Cavs do with their 14th roster spot (I assume they'll leave the 15th empty to open the season for tax reasons). It's possible it just goes to a "veteran leader" like Tristan Thompson, but I'd like to see them add someone who could give them legitimate minutes, since it would help keep the starters fresh over the course of the season.

There's been no intel linking him to Cleveland, but I sort of like the idea of Amir Coffey for them. He's the type of player who could be a regular season "innings eater," so to speak, and who wouldn't need to be relied upon during the playoffs.
