You can't really draft for need when you're a rebuilding team, and Graham and the Bulls were just higher on Swain than they were on Carr.

What’s the difference between an Exhibit 9 contract and an Exhibit exhibit 10?

Exhibit 9 is a clause that protects a team in the event that a player suffers an injury in the preseason (the player gets a $15K payout instead of the team being on the hook for his full salary until he gets healthy).

An Exhibit 10 contract can be converted into a two-way deal and also makes a player eligible for a bonus if he joins his team's G League affiliate.

A lot of training camp deals include both Exhibit 9 and Exhibit 10 language. Some veterans sign Exhibit 9 deals without an E10 clause if they're not eligible for a two-way deal and don't plan on becoming a G League player for their team.

For instance, the Bruce Brown, James Wiseman, Drew Eubanks, Ochai Agbaji, and Tony Bradley contracts with the Knicks are all just E9s, not E10s, because they're competing for an actual roster spot.

Who leafs the Grizz in “Point Guard” minutes played this year?

Hmm, good question! I think Ty Jerome will get the most minutes to start the season but he's a possible trade candidate at the deadline. So maybe Scotty Pippen Jr.

East is a beast this year! So many teams have a chance to make the Finals (Philly, NYK, Boston, Cavs, Pistons). Just as interesting, some good teams will end up losing in, or not even making the playoffs-in. What are your tiers for the East this season?

I know most people have the Knicks and Sixers a cut above the rest of the conference, but I'm not sure about that. I think Philly will take some time to mesh, and it's not like they Knicks dominated the regular season last year. I find it very difficult to separate a lot of those teams in the top half of the East.

I actually feel like there are upwards of 7-8 teams in the East who have a legitimate shot to make the conference finals if everything breaks right (they get some good health luck, favorable early-round matchups, etc.). Besides the five you mentioned, I'd put Toronto, Indiana, and Miami in that group. And as I mentioned earlier, I'm irrationally high on Orlando's upside too. And while I'd be pretty shocked if Atlanta wins two playoff series, I think they'll be very competitive and could certainly be a playoff team. The East is gonna be a lot of fun this year.

What type of role am I projected to play, and if I play good, is there I chance I get traded for picks or a pick at the deadline to a contender maybe? Like someone gets salary dumped for me?

You're a challenging midseason trade addition because you require such a specific role and thrive in such specific lineups. But I could see you playing 20-25 minutes per game in Sacramento and having a nice bounce-back year, then drawing more interest in free agency next summer.

I have to run, but thanks to everyone who submitted questions today! We'll do this again next Wednesday afternoon. We'll even have some games to talk about at that point. Basketball's back!
