I appreciate that the THT/Beverley swap gave us the opportunity to get these jokes off again, but the Lakers' free agent signings this summer were Lonnie Walker (23 years old), Troy Brown (23), Thomas Bryant (25), Damian Jones (27), and Juan Toscano-Anderson (29). LeBron, Westbrook, and Beverley may be "old," but the rest of the roster really isn't anymore!

What do you think the chances of the Golden State Warriors extending Jordan Poole or Andrew Wiggins before the season starts?
Luke Adams

I'd be shocked if Wiggins signs a preseason extension unless it's for an average salary way below his current cap hit. Poole is a little more realistic, but again, it would have to be a deal on the team-friendly side. If the Warriors don't extend Poole and he has a massive year, further increasing his value, that's a good problem to have. Locking him in now for $100MM+ and then watching him take a step back or suffer a major injury would be a much bigger problem for a team with a payroll as high as Golden State's.

Are the Lakers actually going to make a trade to help them? Westbrook might be able to bring some value, but I doubt he matches Hield/Turner or any of the Jazz players.

The Lakers are certainly playing hardball in their Westbrook trade talks, but it remains hard for me to picture him actually suiting up for the team this season. A Jazz trade involving Bogdanovic, Conley, and one of the Lakers' two available first-rounders (2027 or 2029) seems pretty logical to me.

Why does it seem like everyone is vastly underestimating the Toronto Raptors, who are improved after winning 48 games last year?
Luke Adams
12:53
It's more exciting to focus on teams like the Cavs (Mitchell), Celtics (Brogdon), and Hawks (Murray), who added significant pieces, than the ones who are counting on internal growth and continuity. But I share your enthusiasm for the Raptors. I'm a little worried about their depth, but Siakam and VanVleet are All-Star caliber players and it might just be a matter of time before Barnes surpasses both of them.

What are the Heat going to do - likely to trade for a smaller PF like Crowder/Nance Jr or Center like Myles Turner - feel like they need 1 or the other?
Luke Adams
12:55
A power forward looks like a better fit to me. I like Adebayo at center, especially in the postseason. Someone like Crowder would make sense, but the Heat don't really have the salary-matching piece necessary to get him right now (the Suns aren't taking on Robinson).

Should the Wizards try and get another PG? Monte Morris did okay last year with the Nuggets, but he looks kind of like an average guy propped up from playing with Jokich, and his defense is abysmal even by PG standards.
Luke Adams

Morris shouldn't be viewed as the long-term point guard solution in D.C., but the Wizards probably aren't going to find a better option in the next month or two, so they'll see how Morris fits with Beal to start the season. Worth noting they also brought in Delon Wright, who's a much better defender and who could be a better fit at PG in certain matchups and situations.
