What are the chances Brent Rooker is a legit bat going forward?
Brent Hershey
12:59
Pretty good; he's just a late bloomer; has always hit the ball hard. For me the question is whether he goes back to OF-eligible, which would be huge. Seems like it MIGHT be trending that way?

Whew, tons of qs left here. Will try to bang out as many as I can...

Shopping in the 2nd tier of SP for my rotation anchor. Please rank these arms in a 12 team roto; Fried, Kirby, Peralta, Schewllenbach, Bibee, Snell, King. Thank you!

Brent,
Thank you for taking our questions!!
11 team, NL only, Keeper, K-BB, OBP instead of BA.
1.      Cubs 3rd base playing time. Do you think Matt Shaw will be the starter to start the season?
2.      Limited keeper spots. Would you keep Mark Vientos at $10 or Orion Kerkering $1?
Really enjoy your chats!!

  1. Yes
  2. Vientos
  3. Thx for the sub support!

Which of these three young hurlers would you carry into the draft: Ben Brown @ .20, AJ Smith-Shawver @ .50, or Hayden Birdsong @.70? They are talented arms, but without defined roles, it seems.
Brent Hershey

Brown first ... then probably AJSS (b/c of cheaper price). Might take Birdsong #2 of prices were equal.

Slaton of RedSox or Weaver of Yankees if you were GM and why? Both should combine for late innings and maybe 6 wins and 8 saves. Agree with this?
Brent Hershey

Right now, Slaten. Better path to saves.

Am I crazy considering holding on to Jackson Holliday in my 15 team mixed points home keeper league where we only have 5 keepers just because I really like him and want to?
Brent Hershey
1:04
Absolutely not crazy. This game is supposed to be fun. Will you have more fun w/ Holliday on your squad? If so then do it.

Strider…. Brace   Procedure. Do guys really come back strong from brace vs. TJ? I can’t see him in relief as he is completely different vs. windup. Seems like a 2x thru order  ax and 25 starts. Your thoughts?
Brent Hershey

We don't know on internal brace. Not enough data yet. On SS: just need to make call. It's always been price-dependent for me this draft season so far.

Thinking of shying away from Tampa starting pitchers as looking at rain past totals ( outdoors now) it looks like a lot of game delays and will need many multi inning relievers. Thoughts?

Valid; plus spending so much time of the road. BUT .. don't overdo it.

For the 1st timer in auction draft....  If your league also allows owners to keep players from prior year, those keeper players contracts will be undervalued as compared to every guru's projected values of players for the 2025 season.  As a result, you must, MUST calculate inflation into your projected values of the remaining player pool.  Otherwise you will miss out on every premium player as their auction price will escalate beyond what you will assume should be their auction value.

This is a great point ... RotoLab or other tool can help you in calculating inflation. Thx, TexasBob.

On that people-helping-people note, need to shut this down. Got to as many as I could, from as many posters as I could. Same time/place next Monday ... when we'll be one week closer to pitchers & catchers. Catch ya next time!
