He's going to be out because of "injury" ... basically he's not yet healthy enough to play. It won't be a healthy scratch would be a simpler way of saying that.

Hey Albert, not for a while, honestly. They all train crazy hard. Even Kessel, yes. I know the jokes are going to come. ... I see nothing physically that tells me they're in dangerous of falling off a cliff. Mentally? Letang could not get so worked up sometimes, but that's minor. They're all very effective players. I'd think for at least the next couple of years.

The problem with what would be, who takes Maatta's spot? Ruhwedel? I don't know. Nashville wouldn't do it because of its current top four. Toronto, maybe. But then you're giving up Maatta for potentially a rental? I don't like that, either. Honestly, I'd like to see what Guentzel brings before doing anything. Maybe he works, and it's a really cheap alternative. Failing that, it gets expensive.

With this being the one-year anniversary of Guentzel's debut, can you detail what the expectations were for him? I'm pretty sure nobody figured he'd lead the playoffs in goals. Part 2, is there anyone non-Sprong at WBS who you might predict could exceed predictions in a similar manner (if that makes any sense)?

I get what you're saying. Aside from Sprong, at this point, I'd look at Blueger, Simon or Di Pauli. But none of the three are in the Guentzel/Sprong class. As for Guentzel, believe it or not, they did expect him to score a decent amount. Maybe not this much, but they've liked his smarts, touch, willingness to go to tough areas, etc., for a while now.

Thanks, Brad. Same to you and yours. I honestly think maybe only Rust re-signs. They'll re-sign him, for sure. I'm curious whether they want to sign up for more of Ryan Reaves. I do think it's going to have to work better than it has for that to happen. Kuhnhackl may not want to re-sign here based on the role that's available to him. McKegg I think they could easily move on from with the development of someone like Teddy Blueger.

I can't remember if it was you or one of the other beat writers that mentioned Reaves had gained special exemption from Bettman allowing him to bring his train set on road trips (being that it is a therapy train set) has the fact Reaves playing with his toy trains on road trips prompted other players to consider requesting the exemption from Bettman.
