People seem to think Ottawa will be a cakewalk for the Pens. I actually think they have a great chance of beating the Pens. Playing confident, with speed, defensive structure and some good offensive players. I think they are dangerous and the Pens didn't look particularly good against them this year. What are Sully, the players saying about this series?
Jason Mackey

They're saying a lot of things, Andy. Anything you're wondering specifically? They're aware of the challenges Ottawa will present. They're guarding against a letdown. They know they need to play like they did in Game 7 against the Caps.

Who should be playing against Ottawa, meaning who would be most effective? Speedy guys? If so, why not reunite sheary w Sid and Jake? That first line was killing it in the regular season. Ottawa is not a heavy forechecking or physical team like CBJ and Caps
Jason Mackey

Interesting point. I don't like Sheary on the third line ever. I have a feeling we could see 59-87-43 and 17-71-81 as a top six in this series.

Other than Hagelin and Daley, are there any other lingering injuries.? Thought Ruhwedel played well.. keep his spot until Daley is healthy?
Jason Mackey
3:01
That's it. We'll see more tomorrow. I've been so-so on Ruhwedel. Daley isn't close. I would explore using Mark Streit. I kind of what to see what he has in a less than high-pressure environment.

Any word on Karlsson? Seems like he barely practiced today. Terrible news for Ottawa if he can't play.
Jason Mackey
3:02
He'll play. It's playoffs. Read nothing into practice.

Did anyone ever ask Nisky how he felt being 'de-friended' by tape on Flowers mask, after concussing Sid?
Jason Mackey
3:02
I don't think anyone did. That's a miss by us in the media.

Hey Jason, Do you feel like Hagelin will still be benched for game 1 or HCMS will bring him back?
Jason Mackey
3:03
It's not so much benching. It's Hagelin's health. Much will depend on that. I think there's a good chance he could sit out Game 1 to try and heal.

The Pens fore-checking in game 7 had the Caps' defensemen on their heels. Will it be more consistent in this series as compared to the first two?
Jason Mackey
3:03
One would hope. Different team, though, in Ottawa. Need to be aware of that.

Should the Pens stick with a 4th line of Cullen, Rowney and Wilson?
Jason Mackey
3:04
I think so. At least for Game 1, then go from there.

Hi Jason, do you think Pascal Dupuis will ever have a front-office role with the team? Maybe a player to front office liaison like Billy G in the earlier parts of his front office career?
Jason Mackey
3:04
I think it would make sense, given how much his former teammates like him, but I don't get the sense this is something Dupuis is terribly interested in doing.

Hey Jason, what are your thoughts on the resurrection of Marc-Andre Fleury's season and what does it do for the trade value going forward? (Assuming that's the road the Penguins take).
Jason Mackey
3:05
I would still assume Fleury gets traded, and it's interesting to think what this run has done for his trade value. I think it has increased dramatically. Can they get a first-round pick for him? I don't know about that, but I do think the Penguins can get something substantial for Fleury, where that wasn't the case midseason.
