A couple things. One, familiarity. These guys have gotten really comfortable playing with one another. Two, healthy. They've had the top unit together a lot. Three, a career year from Phil, who is the catalyst on that unit. And four, just simple execution. Putting shots past goaltenders.

They scored last night. I'm not about to make too big of a stink about it. If Sullivan gave ZAR some reps with the No. 1 unit to see, I'd be fine with that. But I'm also perfectly OK with Guentzel there. He's capable.

I don't think so. I think they'll consider a buyout. Some way, shape or form, I don't think he's on this team next season.

It's great to see Murray picking up his game in the playoffs.  He was giving up a lot of rebounds in the regular season but that seems to be corrected nicely.

Along the lines of a question from last week's chat, before you worked on the PG staff, were you a Penguins' fan?  You cheered for them?  Now you can no longer be a Penguins' fan because of your position at the PG staff?

That is correct. Beat writers are not fans of the teams they cover. If anything, many of them are the exact opposite of fans. I am 100 percent objective, other than the fact that I hate overtimes and never want any late lead changes.

Would Brassard or Sheahan be given any serious consideration to fill the Hornqvist role if his injury is lengthy?  Guentzel's durability might be at risk in that role for an extended period.

No. They do different things. If they're worried about Guentzel -- they're not -- option No. 2 would be Zach Aston-Reese.

One difference between Game 2 and the other games is that the outside temperature was 80+ degrees that day.    They try to keep the ice in good condition during hot weather, but does that change the game at all?

Not to the degree that it might change the outcome. Game 2 wasn't the first time they played hockey at PPG with a warm temperature outside.

You can't restructure contracts in the NHL like you can in the NFL.
