No, I still think they're looking to upgrade that spot. Although I also believe they would be OK starting Triolo there if they had to.

I don't understand the pirates using super 2 as an excuse to keep a player in the minor leagues. I can't remember one pirate player that even sniffed being in Pittsburgh that long. Garret Cole was kept down and probably cost the pirates the division in 2023 and he was gone long before his making the opening day would have been an issue. .

I'm not defending the Pirates at all. But they're far from the only team where people question how they navigate Super-2 stuff. It's a trend for the entire spot, not just them. I get your point on Gerrit Cole in 2013, and it's certainly frustrating. I wish the system was different. But they're not the only ones.

Yeah, I think that's mostly fair. They have to win. Maybe if there's a whole bunch of injuries and they win 79 or something Cherington stays. But if they're at 71 or 76, given what they've said, would imagines there are changes, yeah.
