What does the starting rotation look like at in April?
Jason Mackey
12:31
I'd go with Keller-Contreras-Hill-Velasquez-Brubaker. Oviedo either in the minors or bullpen.
Connor Williams
12:31
test test
Jason Mackey
12:32
I gotchu.

12:32
Do you think PNC park is going to be packed on opening day?
Jason Mackey
12:32
Yes, I do. Very much so between Cutch and Martin/Burnett. I think it's going to be incredible, honestly.
Jeff
12:32
Going forward with Reynolds and Cruz contracts, wouldn’t a lot hinge on local TV money? A drastic reduction from what AT&T was paying is going to factor in with Bob Nutting I would think.
Jason Mackey
12:33
Not necessarily. If MLB swallows up TV rights, there could be more money. Think about it: MLB is handling the broadcasts, sure, but it's also reaping the benefits of advertising -- and now potentially national ads. Believe Manfred has said they would divy up the $$$ akin to revenue sharing. I would hope there's enough faith in that to not abstain from doing key business in the meantime.

I’m excited to see if Peguero and Gonzales can regain their top prospect status this season. Who are the minor leaguers you are most looking forward to watching this year?
Jason Mackey
12:34
Those are two, for sure. Henry Davis is another for me. I think there's so much more there. I think the kid can be really good if he can ever stop getting hit so much with the damn ball.
12:35
Kyle Nicolas and Carmen Mlodzinski are two pitchers I'm eager to track as well.
Paul
12:35
Do you think that Shelton will give the starting pitchers an opportunity for a complete game this year?
Jason Mackey
12:35
No, I don't. They're extremely adherent to third time through -- meaning they want to avoid it at all costs. I mean, maybe a guy gets a CG, but it would basically have to be a Maddux for Shelton to let it happen given the way they handle pitchers.

12:35
Who is in the lead for that backup catching role?
Jason Mackey
12:36
I would go Plawecki at this point.
Nick
12:36
True or False there is real concern over the last 3 number one picks developing into stars.
Jason Mackey
12:36
There's concern. Is it legitimate concern or well-founded concern? I don't think so. It's almost all external.

12:36
Is there any sort of update on how we can expect to watch games this season with AT&T SportsNet ending the 31st of this month from my understanding?
Jason Mackey
12:37
No update. But if it's not AT&T ... like let's just assume that channel completely goes away, the failsafe is gonna be streaming and the MLB.TV app. If they wind up with a cable channel, then it would appear in similar fashion to AT&T. I think whether that's doable is maybe up for some debate. But there won't be a lapse in broadcasts.

Going to april 7th and the 8th
Jason Mackey
12:38
That's great. I'll be there the 7th. Probably gonna take the 8th off and reintroduce myself to my family.

What are the odds Reynolds is a Pirate at season end??  Thanks Jason
Jason Mackey
12:39
Better than they were at the start of spring training, I know that.
Canyon
12:39
Do you think if the pirates get a deal done with Reynolds they will start to turn some heads among fans and get some belief back in the team?
Jason Mackey
12:40
I would sure hope so. Between Hayes, Reynolds, development, drafting ... I mean, they're not perfect by any stretch, but they are doing things differently. I also think -- this sounds silly, but it's true -- they need to win games. Even if they didn't spend, if they won like the Rays or Guardians, people would care less about the payroll. They just wanna see good baseball.
Wayward
12:42
Have you seen anything in Spring training that you didnt anticipate that is concerning as it relates to the club?
Jason Mackey
12:43
Not really, honestly. Nothing huge anyway. Ji-Man Choi has underwhelmed, I'll say that. But it's also spring. Tyler Anderson and Jose Quintana weren't great either, so I'm not sure anything matters right now.
Nick
12:43
give us a couple of guys to watch for in lower minors who might develop onto our top 10 list.
Jason Mackey
12:45
Chandler and Solo are probably copouts, but they're already top-10 guys on Pipeline. Keep an eye on Jared Jones if you don't know about him. Have heard plenty about Yordany De Los Santos as well. Oh, and Tsung-Che Cheng.

Have you been to the park since the new scoreboard and the other changes were made? How does it look and feel comparatively? Can’t wait to experience it with a crowd.
Jason Mackey
12:45
I was there for pseudo-fan fest, and it looked outstanding. So badly needed. Didn't see much of the other changes, but can't say enough about how much I think the scoreboard will improve.
Wayward
12:51
When do you see the next round of reassignments?
Jason Mackey
12:51
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it happened today or tonight. We're due.

I cannot understand letting  older journeymen players taking AB's from the younger players who need exposure to develop, (including McCutchen  who should be a fourth outfielder, DH.)
Jason Mackey
12:52
I don't know if you just want me to react to something here ... ? Kind of a broad statement. They're going to rotate McCutchen. Also, not sure the bulk of the city has an issue with him playing. If the veterans produce, they should play. If not, they shouldn't. Would also help if the young guys pushed for time during the regular season.
Jeff
12:52
Still no meet up with Travis Williams I presume.
Jason Mackey
12:52
Nope. Haven't seen Travis since early on at Pirate City.
Jeff
12:53
Chavez Young looks like an interesting outfielder for depth. Your thoughts on him.
Jason Mackey
12:53
Potentially. They also have a lot of guys -- Swaggerty, Cal & CSN, to name a few -- but I like his speed. Put it this way: Whomever produces down there should come up. Literally nothing else matters.
Nick
12:53
Do you think Shelton can be a good game manager? Get he has had no talent, but from game to game he seems to make mistakes. Does front office believe when they finally give him talent they can win with him and his current staff?
