Jason, thanks for the chat. Nutting sucks. Now that the common sentiment is out of the way, who do you anticipate the Pirates drafting in June. Since there's no hope for 2022 for the Buccos, we can only look to the future and hope we can draft better than Huntingforaclue did in his last 5 years+

The lease at PNC expires in 2030. Why doesn't Nutting then move or get forced to move the team to WVa or wherever. But leave us The Pirate name like they did with The Cleveland Browns in the late 1990's. We can wait until the next expansion then or if someone else moves their team. I may be ornery, lol on this but Jason, I'm 66 now & I'm not getting any younger!

So you want Bob Nutting to take the Pirates ... but not the name to West Virginia? And then have an expansion team replace the Pirates in Pittsburgh? Is that right? I don't think that's going to happen.

Going forward the buccos have a lot of talented hitters, but the pitching is a bit worrisome. Thoughts on that?

I don't disagree with you. They haven't been good. I will say, there's a dangerous trap of assuming everything that has happened before will repeat itself. It's an epidemic in Pittsburgh. No, on paper, this group has not produced much. That being said, there's nothing stopping them from getting better or being used differently. That has happened before.

Thank you much. I do care and try. That's all I'll take credit for. Hence the two-hour chat. I get the frustration. I don't understand all of what they're doing, believe me. But I do like how they've overhauled their minor leagues and development. That does count for something in my mind.

It would have to be very large. Like multiple top-50 guys or something crazy. I don't think teams are going to be willing to offer what the Pirates will want. If you're gonna trade him, you can't let him get away for nothing. (I would rather see them extend him, as I've said a billion times.)

You mentioned Thompson ERA from last year. Well Quintana’s was 6.43. I think this spring so far shows he is what his record is. Hasn’t been good for 4/5 years. I don’t think he is even as good as Anderson from last year. I hope your optimism for him is right.

I don't know if I have "optimism" as much as I refuse to formulate an opinion based on five innings. They signed him to a $2 million deal. He's gonna pitch. I'd rather make a judgement based on those results.
