Any word on what the taxi squad would mean as far as compensation and service? Basically, would they receive anything for being inactive, or only if they were the active 30?

No word yet. I think they would have to figure that out. My guess is it will be part of the financial discussions, although obviously not a primary driver. But no word on that sort of compensation yet.

Would they play the nl central a lot more than Al central or would they keep it about the same

I think they would play the NL Central more. How much more, I don't know. But I could see starting with 30 games -- 3 home, 3 away -- against the other league, then 52 against your own traditional division, 13 against each opponent. That's loose and off the top of my head, but I think it will be something like that.

With 20 guys on taxi, i presume the remainder of minor leaguers go to spring training complexes and we suddenly have a de facto 'academy system' for this year.  Interesting how the owners are working to turn this batch of lemons into tasty lemonade..... ?

I think you're right, Bob. They will play intrasquad games, and it honestly might be kind of interesting. But, yeah, I don't see them playing games in their affiliated cities this season.
