Why not Christian Bethancourt over Perez at catcher? Perez isn’t outstanding defensively and we’ve certainly seen his offensive ability. Bethancourt has the team lead in average at Indy and decent MLB track record.

Christian Bethancourt has been playing first base. I'm not the biggest Perez fan either, but I'm not sure Bethancourt has even been behind the plate. It's been a lot of Hudson and Susac after Craig came up. Indy has no other 1B.

I think everyone does, Ern. And I love my job. I try my best to be fair on both sides. Be realistic but also say what I feel like they do wrong. It's funny because I'll get crap from Pirates people about being too negative and crap from others saying I'm too soft.

Do the Bucs wait until the last minute before the trade deadline to move Frazier Rich Rod and Moran and possibly Stallings to get the best possible deal? Or do they start moving the pieces earlier?

I don't think they will move Stallings, first. Also, I've been hearing they could strike early, which would make sense. That said, teams -- including the Pirates -- have established values for their guys, thresholds. It's impossible for me to say what 29 other teams will do and when/if another is going to meet that threshold, which the Pirates obviously aren't going to share. That's why it's very speculative when talking about when they might do something.

Yes, I believe in the coming weeks. Umpires have been told to make it stop. And thank God. Just be consistent with it. Guys will adjust/change.
