Good point on Dickerson  I miss the old days when your kids could by a jersey and the player's name on back would still be with the team when they grew out of it. This team doesn't get the point.

You're catching a lot of guff today about your Manfred comments earlier, Jason. I think you just need to lay it out for us fans...Do you support Manfred 100% and, if not, to what degree do you support him and his plans for baseball, such as eliminating the shift which would effectively destroy small market teams. I hope that helps. We still think you're a good writer, you just have to be careful how much you praise Manfred. You really went overboard on heaping on the praise to a fan base who he has turned his back on since he took over. Thanks!

I'm not in favor of eliminating the shift. I am in favor of improving the pace of play. ... I didn't "heap praise" on him. I said I agreed with some of the things he was doing. That's it.

Ha. Nothing major. I just had a filling come completely out and had a big crater in my tooth. "Dental emergency" was probably a crappy word choice on my part.

I get your point on Dickerson but why are Pirates so committed to Polanco.  Dickerson is better in field and at plate.  Polanco has more "potential" but we have seen that before.  If Polanco goes they can easily afford Dickerson

Yeah, but Polanco -- whether you like him or not -- is under contract. If they could hand Polanco's contract to Dickerson, I think they might consider it. But they can't.
