I'm assuming you mean ADHD? Unless there's something medically I'm unaware of. This isn't crass. This is from the parent of a child with ADHD: It ain't that simple. Same deal with Cruz.

Here's a little of what I mean: In the DR, players want to get out, right? Not the best area. They want to make money. They want to get scouted, etc. How do you do that? Skills. Running, throwing, hitting, stuff that pops during showcases. Not learning the nuance of the game.

Cruz has had some of that. A lot of Latin players do. Also, he's 27. I don't know about you, but I didn't have everything figured out back then. Doesn't have to be a diagnosis. Anyway, I know you just asked if he's tested. I would imagine if there are enough symptoms exhibited, which I don't think has been the case. I just think he needs to grow up a little as a player.

Is it possible for a GM and a city to just not click?  I'm talking spiritually lol... because it sure seems like analytics are cursed in this town.  This is Pittsburgh.  The Steel City. 3 yards in a cloud of dust.  Like the universe is saying go get GM and coaches that are old school (buck the moneyball trend) and everything will work out because it's the burgh.

Analytics were a huge driving force behind the last time the Pirates won. Shoot, the Penguins relied heavily on that stuff in 2016-17. I think it's an oversimplification here. We wouldn't be talking about this stuff or worrying over it if the Pirates just won more.

Jason - Who do you see as the starting rotation in 2026?  Is it Skenes and the young guns or is Keller part of it? Do you see the Pirates to be willing to trade D. Santana?

I don't think they'll trade Santana. He's too important to the bullpen. Skenes, Chandler, Ashcraft for sure. Probably Oviedo. Keller if he's not traded. Burrows has a very good shot. Also wouldn't surprise if they added a veteran lefty type.

Do we have enough middle infield prospects who don't hit in the organization or should we try to acquire more?  Also what is the obsession with smaller guys who profile as contact hitters.

Yeah, I think they're good there. Go acquire some guys who can hit and hit for power.
