Jason, is there any chance the Pirates can move into the NLEast?  I'd like to see the old Pirates-Mets matchups more, Pirates-Phillies, Pirates-Nats to follow up on the Baltimore rivalry.  The teams they play in the NL Central are, excuse me, kind of boring, Milwaukee, Chicago, etc. and pretty distant geographically speaking.  Thanks

I would love that, personally. Those are some of my favorite cities, aside from Miami. But I don't get the sense that anything on that front is imminent, no.

Jason, could you see me in the 2022 rotation?

A little too soon, I think. Maybe 2023.

You have again stated, "I do think that Bob Nutting will spend when it's time." Can you explain the reasoning behind this belief, as it flies in the face of his history?

It comes from Cherington saying it. It comes from the idea that I don't think Cherington or Travis Williams -- who've been places where they've spent and had really good business models -- would suddenly gamble with their professional futures by coming here if they didn't truly believe Nutting would spend. Also, they're not idiots. Can we agree on that? I think they know a plan to do something legit versus BS. Lastly, I've talked with Bob -- one-on-one at PiratesFest -- about his desire to do things differently next time around, how he wasn't happy with what happened post-2013-15, how he blamed himself and how they learned how to better build on all of that stuff. But they do think -- and they might not be wrong -- that involves starting again at square one.

OK, folks. That's gonna do it for this week. Have a conference call coming up at 1:30. Thanks so much for stopping by. Look forward to doing this again soon!
