Have you heard any substance to some rumors that the Lions are interested in Rudolph, or is it just smoke?
Jason Mackey

I'm too new over there, Brandon. I would be lying if I said I had means to track that sorta stuff down. That takes time, and our Steelers reporters do an incredible job. They don't need me.

How can a guy who wins awards in college for punting NOT be able to punt in the NFL? Nothing is different: hike - catch the ball - kick the ball. Any insights?

How can someone who catches balls in practice drop them in the game? How can hitters who crush live batting practice struggle when the games start? Why can't goalies stop every puck when they do so in practice?

I know you just hopped into some of the other sports, but I’m curious as to your answer to this: do you have one sleeper that makes the roster and one surprise, maybe a veteran, that gets cut?
Jason Mackey

I don't know if I have enough of a feel for the margins of the Steelers roster to give you a reasonable answer on this one. Sorry.

Probably wont happen but how great would it be for GMBC to resign Taillion for 2023 if Yankees let him go? Nice, veteran arm for rotation

I'd love it. I think he would love it, too. They could do a lot worse, Bill.

What exactly are the Pirates "rebuilding"?  They never built on the empty lot.
Jason Mackey

Ha. This is actually why Cherington doesn't like calling it a "rebuild." Story I did from not long ago: https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/pirates/2020/02/06/Pirates-Ben-Che...

Injuries are commonplace in baseball nowadays, I get it. But doesn’t it seem like Pirates — especially in the minor leagues — are getting hurt a ton? I know you’re not a doctor, but is that a concern for the organization?
Jason Mackey

It's all over the sport, Cameron. I wouldn't say this is happening more to the Pirates than other clubs. I think it's way to easy to put players on/off the 10-day IL. Encourages coming out of the lineup for any little thing.

What is your opinion for success for the Pirates in 2023? 24? 25?
Jason Mackey
1:16
I think they're going to be actually good by '24-'25. Like above .500, watchable, etc. I think next year they will flirt with it for a bit, then tail off at the end. Sort of like '12 during the last rebuild.

Phish or Grateful Dead?
Jason Mackey
1:16
Grateful Dead, of course. But Phish is closing the gap. Been on that train a lot.

5 years from now....who's a bigger star? Pickett or Pickens
Jason Mackey

Ooooh, man. This is hard. What about stars together? Nah, but I think Kenny will be the franchise guy here for a long time. Taking him over George just because of the position.

OK, folks. That does it for me today. Gotta get ready and head into the ballpark. Thanks, as always, for participating in these. Hopefully we'll get into more of the other sports next week.
