Jason, being a slightly paranoid realist, I'm concerned my squad has actually started too well. I sense some type of storm clouds on the horizon, because, well, that is how life goes.  Sorry to get all philosophical on you. Thoughts?
Jason Mackey

Hexy, it's been four games. Legs have looked lively. Offense has been generated. Just enjoy it for what it is.

Hey I can come to Pittsburgh and do that thing we're doing to Dan Snyder for your Baseball team owner if you want. Interested ?
Jason Mackey
12:30
Boy, there's a philosophical question: Dan Snyder or Bob Nutting. I would honestly take Nutting. You may hate the way he runs a baseball team, but if you read the original Washington Post story on Snyder, at least that stuff ain't happening.

And 100% kudos for even answering the questions about the strike ... keep up the great work, really enjoying your recent work.
Jason Mackey
12:31
Thanks, Kordell. It's a crappy situation all around. I hate it.

Were you surprised that Michigan dominated Penn State like they did? What do you make of the "He's a great recruiter but mediocre game coach" critique of Franklin.
Jason Mackey
12:32
I was surprised. I really thought Penn State had a chance, and that was ugly. Wrote this in 10 Thoughts. Penn State paid a lot of money for someone they surely expect to win those games. HCJF has been nowhere close.

Jason, that sound you hear is crickets from my clueless detractors, including the morons who did not put me in the Top 100. Give this great ole' Ruskie a break.....
Jason Mackey
12:32
Best I've seen you look in a while.

Jason, why sign Ali Sanchez?  Isn't Perez coming back or can't they afford him?
Jason Mackey
12:33
It's just depth. I still think they sign Perez, assuming all goes well in winter ball.
Sad Sad Sad

So where will this "great minor league talent" be playing ? Because it certainly won't be in Pittsburgh. And we've seen how often the talent here flops. And what Single A hitter with a .212 career average and marginal defensive skills will the Pirates get in return ?
Jason Mackey
12:33
You're gonna be mad about the Pirates no matter what I type, so I'm not gonna waste the effort.

Jason, I like your sports work (for the most past), but your knowledge of guitarists is seriously limited.  There is a world beyond Jerry and Trey, although at least you did latch onto to two great ones, so there is that...
Jason Mackey
12:34
Ha. I also listen to a lot of blues guys we don't talk about -- Robert Johnson,, SRV, Hendrix, Thorogood, Ten Years After, Savoy Brown, etc.
Jim Irsay
12:34
It's because Bob knows how to hide it better than Dan. Also the fact its DC, the center of power in this country makes a differnce. I guarantee its happening here
Jason Mackey
12:34
Pretty sure I would get some whiff of it. I'm an idiot, I know, but I'd like to thing I have some feel for the organization and what happens.

Piling onto my question about replays, I'll ask the second part again. Why don't "they" put a time limit on them? Saying it's more important to get the call right is bogus because there are plenty of times when people think replay got it wrong. And even if replay gets the call right, that's not why it was instituted. It was instituted to correct obviously blown calls. I half think it's because the long delays let them run more commercials.
Jason Mackey
12:35
I missed that, Gunner, sorry. I'd absolutely cap it. And the reasoning is what you said -- trying to get it right, even though that doesn't guarantee it. Completely disrupts the flow of a game.

Hey Jason. What are the chances Hayes wins his first Gold Glove?  It seems his stats are better than the perennial winner Arenado. Thanks.
Jason Mackey
12:36
I'd say 50/50 at this point. SABR Defensive Index would likely favor Hayes because it takes into account positioning and reaction and all that stuff, not just execution of the final play like errors.
OK, folks. Practice ending. Gotta run. Thanks so much for participating.
