Is it generally harder for pitchers to be excellent hitters, or hitters being excellent pitchers? Could Trout or Harper be a better pitcher than say Kershaw or Bumgarner are as hitters?

We've more often seen successful-hitting pitchers than successful-pitching hitters, so maybe that answers your question
But hitters are also given few opportunities to pitch, because of the health risks. And pitchers, at least, take batting practice
What's probably true is that the skills are so specialized they're almost equally difficult

If the Mariners trade for Cozart what is the return at this point? Probably not Gohara I would assume/hope. What's fair for one year of a non-elite but not totally sucky SS?

Cozart is a pretty useful player. Gohara *might* be too much but then he's never pitched above A-ball, and he's hardly been dominant there. He's not an elite prospect

I think it's a little expensive, but not by enough to matter. Would've been more comfortable with the fourth year being a vesting option based on 2019 PAs

Which is the better move, winning the bullpen arms race this winter or going year to year trading for a hot bullpen arm at the Trade Deadline again?
