Edwin Encarnacion is at about the same number of home rurns David Ortiz was at coming into his age 35 season (EE - 348, Ortiz - 349). It took Ortiz 5 more seasons averaging a little bit over 30 home runs a season to get to 500 career home runs. Can Encarnacion get there?

He absolutely can, although I think the odds are a little stronger that he'll fall short, just because of how old he already is

For sure. The second wild card in the NL isn't very good. The Pirates aren't terrible. One tweak from Glasnow makes him a five-win pitcher by himself
