Jeff Sullivan
10:38
No, I don't, and no, they don't
Tim
10:38
What should the Athletics and Rays do regarding their terrible stadium situations? Should Sternberg and Lou Wolff consider moving the teams?
Jeff Sullivan
10:39
This is not my field of expertise, but I have faith that the A's will soon find a better situation in Oakland. And in theory the Rays should be able to find a better situation close to where they are. Just not *exactly* where they are.
Jesse
10:39
Would you be shocked if Dombrowski traded for Quintana?
Jeff Sullivan
10:39
Less shocked than I would be with almost any other general manager
I'd still be surprised
Correa
10:39
Do I take the next step to stardom this year?
Jeff Sullivan
10:39
I think yes is more likely than no
People forget that you're still 22 years old
10:40
Carlos Correa is younger than Andrew Benintendi
10:41
Hell, he's basically the same age as JP Crawford
Philip
10:42
How would you rank them and sort out playing time: Margot, Jankowski, Renfroe, Dickerson
Jeff Sullivan
10:43
Jankowski might be the worst of them, but then he's a really interesting speed/defense player, sooooo it's messy. There should be no problem finding regular playing time for all four if they deserve it
Comp guy
10:43
Hey Jeff, do you think a decent comp for Tyler O'Neill is like a peak Mickey Mantle with more plate discipline?
Jeff Sullivan
10:43
If Mickey Mantle played the piano
ChiSox2020
10:43
Fill in the blank: A successful 2018 White Sox Season looks like _______________
Jeff Sullivan
10:44
the 2014 Astros season
Kevin
10:44
Jake Arrieta is reportedly looking for a 7 year, $200M contract after this year. Is there any team that would give him that prior to his age 32 season?
Jeff Sullivan
10:45
Probably not. He would need to bounce back in a *huge* way
YKnotDisco?!
10:45
What do sheep count?
Jeff Sullivan
10:45
Nothing, and then they are slaughtered for our enjoyment
DonCarlo
10:46
Does Jim Johnson hold onto the closer role all year in Atlanta, and if so, is the 9.5 K/9 and 2.71 FIP from last year sustainable?
Jeff Sullivan
10:46
Let me stop you right there. No
Chippy
10:46
How do you feel about the Mariners' trades for low-ceiling, high floor prospects?
Jeff Sullivan
10:47
I like it as a strategy when you don't have your own strong farm system to speak of
Lou
10:47
With Sanders Commings signing with the Braves and the Tebow fiasco, do you see former football players as a viable talent pool for baseball?
Jeff Sullivan
10:47
I think it's going to be more like would-be football players who shift to or stick with baseball at the lower levels
Not so much former football players making the shift in their mid- to late-20s
Choi Boy
10:48
Keep forever Jeff - Aaron Nola or Kevin Gausman?
Jeff Sullivan
10:48
Nola, although I don't know what kind of company he'll be when he's 74
Hopefully pleasant
Curtis
10:49
Who is the most anonymous position player who seemingly has a full time job?
Jeff Sullivan
10:49
The answer for a few years has been Yangervis Solarte
10:50
Solarte with the Padres: 1260 PA, 110 wRC+
Headley with the Yankees: 1395 PA, 97 wRC+
10:51
Failing that, Omar Narvaez, if he actually catches for the White Sox?
Dave Dombrowski
10:53
What is a realistic contract extension for Betts?
Jeff Sullivan
10:54
At this exact point in his career, Trout signed for six years and $144.5 million, which covered his three years of arb and three years of free agency
10:56
Trout was coming off consecutive 10-win seasons, and his contract kicked in at age 23. Betts' in this example would kick in at age 25, and he's coming off an 8-win season
10:57
So, start with the Trout terms, and then start shaving millions. Maybe somewhere around 6/$125m
The Trout deal, for the Angels, was a bargain, because Trout as a young player was basically unprecedented
